Worst Experience I've Ever Had in a Store…read more DO NOT get your makeup done here. Do not support this location. Drive the extra 5 minutes to a different store. Your skin will thank you. I booked a makeup appointment here for my engagement photos, which can't be redone. It was horrendous. The "artist" was extremely rough with my skin. Two weeks later, I still have a rash diagnosed as contact dermatitis, with red, peeling, painfully sensitive skin under my eyes. She yanked my hair back aggressively, and when I asked her to be gentle, she ignored me and did the same to the other side. I brought a photo of the look I wanted. When she first turned me around, my entire eyelid was brown, when the photo showed only a tiny bit on the wing. It took four attempts to get it to "good enough." Then she scrubbed under my eyes with "alcohol" makeup wipes, which immediately irritated my skin and broke my skin barrier. I only use oil makeup remover. I told her multiple times that my skin was sensitive, and she cheerfully said "sounds good" and changed nothing. I asked for a small wing with my eyeliner, and minutes later my whole upper lid was covered in thick liner with no wing at all. I had to tell her to remove it and forget the wing entirely. Because of all the redos, I was an hour late to my own photoshoot. I started crying halfway through and almost walked out, but I had to pull myself together. I could have done a better job myself, but I doubted myself because I had no time to practice. I didn't even get the look I wanted. I had also brought my own makeup because I didn't want the floor testers used on me, and the brushes she used were still dirty. The aftermath was just as bad. The Ulta rewards card company couldn't help me. Customer service couldn't help me. A different Ulta location told me I had to go back to the original store. When I finally did, the manager said I needed a different manager, who wasn't there. They wrote my name and number on a sticky note and promised a call after 5 PM the next day. By 6 PM, nothing. I finally got a call at 6:30, after calling and asking for the manager multiple times. When I explained everything, she dismissed my experience entirely. Her only response was that I couldn't get a refund because it had been two weeks. She eventually gave me a partial refund, but she never acknowledged how awful this was or that her own employee caused it. She made me come into the store for a refund that was supposed to take "a couple minutes." It took far longer, and she was rude the entire time. Yes, I was frustrated. This was a traumatic experience, and the skin on my face is invaluable. It was treated like an object. When I asked what steps she would take to make sure this never happens again, she said, "I don't know." That says everything. Save yourself the stress, the skin damage, and the runaround. Go anywhere else.
