As a niche fragrance lover, I was THRILLED when I heard news of La Jetée opening. I have been twice…read moreand both experiences have been terrible. The employee is supposed to assist you personally, and there are no paper strips for you to be able to assist yourself with sampling. This would be fine, if not for the fact that both times I arrived there was someone already being assisted. The employee the first time looked at me like I was an utter annoyance. The second time, last week, the male employee (different person) looked so harried that he threw a stack of paper strips at me and said "whatever I'm having a weird day" because he wasn't supposed to do that but there were at least 4 other people in the shop. I don't dress to the nines when I've gone there, and I don't feel I should have to in order to be treated with respect. I don't plan on returning because I can buy the same products online. Such a shame, I wish they would improve their customer service.

With that being said, I'll say I found the store to be a bit confusing with too many displays of the same items. I routinely found the same bars of soap in different areas of the store, which became annoying as I didn't know what I smelled and what I didn't. I'll say I wasn't wild about any of the scents. When stiffing the soaps, I didn't find any of them to be overly fragrant, with the exception of the "lemon" ones which really smelly lemony. I thought for the price, I would have expected a stronger scent. It's cool to see the colors and patterns, but until the scent is as strong as Irish Spring (which you can smell from 2 aisles over at Walmart), I can't say $8 a bar is worth it. Maybe add a bit more of the scent juice.
