When you're a two person operation and one of you is taken sick, it's a legitimate reason to close shop for the day. --------------------------- 8/24/17 Pros: My aesthetician has amazing hair. It's thick and healthy and always looks amazing. Recently, she posted a photo of a new hair color and credited this salon. I just had to go here because she is my hair aspiration. Cons: First, I tried to book an appointment via FaceBook. They never ever responded. So I got their number from my aesthetician. I texted them and they texted back the next day. They didn't have any appointments the following week, but were able to fit me in two weeks later. On the day of my appointment, 1.5 hours before I was to arrive, they canceled due to an "emergency." They offered the reschedule and I responded that I was available any time that day or the next day. Never heard back. Finally, I just texted them that I was able to find a more convenient appointment at a salon near my home. Never heard back from them. Disappointing. Basically, if it were up to me, they would get no stars for the lackluster customer service. However, I have seen their work (my aesthetician's hair) and I can see they probably do good work. Also, my aesthetician tells me they are a very small operation; husband and wife duo. Hate slamming a local business on Yelp. So I gave them a mediocre rating.

My special request involved hair tinsel. I saw a girl that had them a while back and became obsessed with them. I love how it sparkles! It was easy to purchase it online but putting it on was a whole other deal. You have to skipknot it on your hair and then tie it three other times for it to actually stay on. It became quickly obvious that I would not be able to do it on my own. Bianca took the time to watch a video on it and read some instructions. It was helpful to wet my hair for the knots. She literally tied it one by one since I didn't want a whole strip of them. I wanted mostly for them to complement my grey hair. She was incredibly patient and such a trooper about it! I had a lot of criteria but no clear picture of what I wanted. I'm sure I was "that" customer. I said, "Alyson Hannigan red, but for my skin tone, short enough to style, but long enough to cover the tattoo on my neck and put in a ponytail for working out. Bangs, but swoopy, and layers to keep my thick hair stylable." What I got was incredible. I haven't been able to pass a mirror without stopping and staring at myself for a few minutes. The selfies have taken over my phone's photo gallery. Rachel gave me a shade of red that plays well off my pasty skin, and makes my blue eyes pop. The layers have turned my poofy, Hermione Granger hair into face-framing, flattering, loose curls. I roll out of bed, spritz a little leave-in conditioner, brush it, and I look fantastic. Seriously. Rachel has super powers. I made my appointment over a month in advance (since I was coming home to visit from Seattle), so I can't speak to how quickly you can get in, or if walk-ins are welcome. But trust me - make an appointment with Rachel. The street parking on Saturday morning was easy, and the neo-rustic Brady charm was carried inside the salon. I will definitely be coming back to see Rachel next time I come home for a visit. It's worth the airfare.

The dressing rooms are very tiny, cramped and dirty (FYI) Either owner or employee has a small dog NOT on a leash. They said he has an issue with being touched around his face and will snap but doesn't bite! The dog came up to my SN kiddo. Given my boy has a service dog (and his LOVE for animals), the dog presented himself as loving, so my boy said, "who is a good dog?" The dog proceeds to take the submissive roll over scratch my belly flop. My boy goes to rub his belly and the dog snaps at my boys hand. He got freaked out. They claim he doesn't bite, but he did. He got my boys thumb. Nothing serious at all, just a nick by his upper nail bed, but nevertheless he shouldn't be out if there is a chance he can snap. My boy never did anything to scare him. So I was pretty upset. It bothered him the rest of the day, and given my boys weak immune system a dog bite could be horribly dangerous!
