They have this shady way of squeezing money out of you too, they won't just call in a script, they say you have to have an appointment. They also want you to come in like every month, and they always seem confused as to why you're there. Well I was there, because they said come back in a month. What was the last straw with this place is they were holding my anti-depressants hostage, unless I scheduled an appointment. I told them I couldn't get off work, and asked if they could please call it in, or suggest something else. They said maybe go to Doctor's Care, WTF, what kind of place does this. If I had not gotten my meds I could have had a really bad reaction, luckily the Doctor's Care was able to help me, until I found a better family practice. Oh after about 4 years they claimed I owed them money and sent it to collections, that was just the cherry on top.

I did not realize the tools available through other carriers for choosing services. I've since learned from my insurance broker that Dr. Prince does not meet UHC's standards for low cost (efficiency) or quality outcomes. I made the mistake of mentioning some past elevated test results my last doctor was monitoring. Dr. Prince tested me and confirmed it had lowered to normal range - then stuck me with a diagnosis as if there were a problem, causing me to have to pay the entire amount (diagnostic, high deductible plan) for what otherwise would have been a preventative visit. The office manager will not even return calls to discuss. This has truly been an awful experience.

I didn't have my portion (deductible) today and they would not bill me. That's fine, but she (Stephanie) was rude about it. There's no reason for that. If it was the policy, she would have never called billing and spoke about me in my face as though I wasn't there. But thankfully, I don't go low. I left without being seen but I also didn't reschedule because anywhere that doesn't care about me as a person can't care about my health. It doesn't matter to them, I'm sure, but they still lost a patient today. I've been going there since 2016! But today ended that "relationship." I'll find somewhere that still treats people like people.

The main issues we are unhappy with are the lack of personal care for us as a family and miscommunications. Right away it feels more like the practice is more interested in the business of Pediatrics rather than the children themselves. We have never felt warmly welcomed there. It also seems like they are in the habit of over scheduling since the wait time (and you have to have an appointment) is crazy , the last visit I left after waiting an hour and a half past my appointment time.The other problem is that there have been many miscommunications, medicine sent to the wrong pharmacy, pills prescribed for a 7 yr old instead of liquid and a misdiagnosed UTI all from 1 visit. They didn't give us any information when we first registered with them about nurse lines or how the practice handles weekend emergencies or even general policies. Information that could have helped a lot when I had issues with the prescription. Any way if your thinking about Palmetto I'd say try somewhere else , I've already requested our records and am hoping to find a practice that truly cares for families and children.
