Patient First has a system whereby you put your info in when you walk in the door and go on from there. Its faster and more efficient than this places' is. Lab Corp, only once have I had to wait longer than 5-10 min. and that is without an appt. Phone calls are not always answered. When the Sentara Leigh lab called them, they didn't get any answer. They tried and verified the number. I believe I have been retaliated against by at least one of the blood drawers. I reported it and said I was concerned about retaliation. I went in and they had 3-4 people working the front lines. 2 of them I've seen before & have mouthed off at me. I signed in, others behind me (one in a wheelchair). One of those who've been "smart" at me, (brown haired thin lady), finished her person, did a phone call and then looked at her screen. She didn't care (nor did another fair haired female who's had a problem) that people were signed in waiting to be waited on. Finally the 4th person, a guy I had never seen before, calls me. I had only to pick up a bottle for a test that both Sentara Leigh labs didn't have. He said ok, printed out my order and told me to put it in the lab box. I went to put it in there. The lady I had problems with before was sitting at the computer, listening to a guy talk, stared at me so she knew I was waiting for service. A lady was getting her blood drawn by a new person (would you want a stranger a few feet away?), who apparently had a problem and stopped, looking at the lady. The guy kept on talking. The lady didn't get up, but sat listening to him. After I went out of the lab, standing nearby, the guy who waited on me went into the lab. Finally the lady at the computer went to help the new lab tech. The guy went to the bathroom in there and moved closer to the person getting her blood drawn! After 12 min. I went to leave. I couldn't believe it, 2 people, and if one had a problem, the other should have looked to see what was next or enter orders due to the backup. I had one of the check in ladies I first spoke about say something to me as I was walking out. I was now acknowledged with sass. It was that the person was in training. I said they could have done other things to get it done. I didn't say it, but the more senior lab person could have asked the person talking to her to wait until she took care of customers. Bottom line, when you hear others talk about a 45 min. wait with an appt. and all they have to do is check in at the front desk, take your business and money elsewhere where you are not retaliated against. In the past, I've watched them jump on the phone before they see me so they make me wait, including all customers behind me. I've seen them take time to enter lab orders. When I had someone that was given bloodwork before me, and I was the next one in line, I asked about it and was told that she had other work being done that day but that was none of my business. I told that to the manager and said I had concerns about retaliation and that was why.

If you enter the store on the right side, that will get you in at the closest entrance to the Quest Diagnostics location inside. My visit here was on April 6, 2023. This is the first time I have been to a Quest Diagnostics location for lab testing. I had an appointment scheduled by one of the benefits of my health plan. Under normal circumstances, I just get a blood draw at my doctor's office otherwise. When you come inside, there is some seating on the left side, and to the right, you will see the check in kiosk. You'll want to make sure you have your valid identification and health insurance card as that was asked at the time of checking in there. I think they do need to update the Clinic Laboratory License from CMS on the wall, since that one expired in October 2020. I did make it here a little early, so I did have a little wait. They did run just a little behind as I think they only had one worker there at the time. While waiting, I saw some other workers use the keypad to get into the clinic area of the place. A few minutes after the scheduled time, I got called back. One thing I noticed right away is that the place was exceptionally clean. After going back to the room, I was seated and the phlebotomist verified who I was. She also had me verify the vials that are being used had my name on them, which they were. The blood draw process was very quick and smooth. The phlebotomist had a really good bedside manner too, and had a little small talk too while getting it ready and administered. After the draw was done, she had me look at the vials again and verify it had my name on it, which it did. That completed the process for me on this visit. Overall, this was an excellent experience. The service and timing of it was on point. Having an impeccably clean room is even better. The results would come back about three business days later, which is the timing she told me. If you need to have some blood draws or other things to be done like that, this place is definitely worth coming to. Plus, since it's inside Walmart, you can do some shopping before or after your appointment too.

I followed her to the room, no words at all. Told me to sign a pad, sit down, put the tie on my arm and literally jabbed the needle in. I actually jumped. I've never had an experience like that. I think she needs to go back to school and learn the proper way to draw blood.

It is part of the Parliament Drive Professional Building. My visit here was on July 13, 2023. It was time for my quarterly lab draw, which I have been doing at the Quest Diagnostics location at Walmart. However, after waiting there for about 45 minutes, no staff ever showed up. Later that day, a message would come out that they would be closed and to reschedule the appointment (this was about 4 hours later). Since I was already fasting and looking to get it done, I started looking at other places that take Quest Diagnostics as the lab order is covered 100%. In the end, I made my way here to have the blood draw taken care of. I almost missed where the building was. It looks like it was converted to businesses, as it looks like an old motel was here before. They are located on the second floor, so you can only access it via stairs from what I was able to see, so you probably won't be able to get up there if you can't use the stairs. Once I came inside, there was a nice associate at the counter. She asked what brought me here and I told her it was for fasting labs and that I had the lab order available on my phone. After getting that squared away, there was a cost to have this done. Mind you, this was not expected as it was supposed to be covered 100%. Essentially there is a $30 convenience fee (at least that is what it seemed like to me). It's a fee for all out there, as it ended up costing $31.19 because they charge a credit/debit card fee too. After that was done, I was taken back to a room with the chair for the blood draw to take place. After everything was verified, the blood draw took place and then had me verify the info on the test tubes. After that, the process was complete. The blood draw portion took less than five minutes. Overall, everything went well with the process. This is actually well outside the area that I would normally go to have the blood draw taken care of. The associate was caring and understanding, so there was nothing wrong with that at all. There wasn't an overall wow factor and the convenience fee was a bit of a turn off for me. However, if you are looking to have labs drawn through insurance and close by, this is a viable location to have it done.
