In 2008 I had my left hip replaced by Dr. Jordan. Since then I have had my right hip replaced in 2014 and both knees replaced in 2020. Left knee was replaced in August with the right knee being replaced 3 months later. All surgeries were a complete success with minimal pain and quick recovery. The office staff, Nurses and Physician Assistants are all very nice. Jordan Young Institute is a very large practice with specialists for all Orthopedic issues. This revue is just for Dr. Jordan and his staff. I have another Doctor at this practice which I will revue at another time.

I was referred to Jordan-Young Institute by a friend who was convinced they changed her life. From the first phone call to make an appointment, to my second follow up appointment with Dr. Babbington, I am satisfied. My first appointment was scheduled as soon as possible, after sharing my backstory and what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionists were very friendly, and told me to check in on the tablet. A super convenient, easy way to check in, pay your copay and get your insurance on file. Once I met with Dr. Babbington, I knew I was in good hands. His expertise and passion for what he does made me feel confident that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. He went over my prior imagining, talked possibilities, scheduled an injection and a follow up, and made a game plan. On my follow up appointment, Dr. Babbington and I had to talk about the surgical options that I have to think about. Knowing one of them is tough to get covered by insurance, he said he will do whatever he can do to try and can get it covered, so that I can have the best possible procedure and a better future ahead. I'm looking forward to seeing how the procedure goes.

I'd like to start by saying that while I haven't visited the physical building, I was referred here…read moreby my doctor to work with a dietitian to help me lose weight and improve my health. This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. We only get one shot at life; I may have started this battle late, but I'm determined to battle to the end. Thank you if you read all my ramblings. :) Thank you again Dennis. Tim

They also give you exercises that you can do at home. I went for the dry needling, but found out my insurance doesn't cover it, but you have the option to pay out of pocket. The room is wide open so it will be several other patients getting worked on at the same time. They do have some private rooms. You're given several exercises to build your strength back up in whatever area you have issues with, and they also incorporate some massage, and heating pads into your treatment. It's about an hour visit, and you're in and out. Wear something comfy. I have used them in the past as well and think its a nice office to use for your therapeutic needs. Check them out!!

I can't say that it was a fun experience. But it worked. I'm sure the intermittent problem will eventually return because I've been dealing with it my entire life. My Physical Therapist Paola was extremely nice & helpful. I was able to book every appointment with him. We enjoyed sharing my new love of Filipino pastries. He gave me tips as to new places to try. The large building in the Town Center area is on the south side of Columbus Street across the street from Wegmans. Turn west on Columbus Street from Independence. The physical therapy space is on the 2nd floor conveniently accessible by elevator. The hall to the area is decorated with fascinating prints of old Norfolk & Virginia Beach. Seating is available in the main floor lobby space. The only reason for 4, rather than 5 stars is the hours the staff keeps. They are very friendly & nice. But they leave so early that you aren't able to make or change your appointment after therapy. One day I was there & there was no one at the desk when I arrived. A regular there told me the staff didn't work that day of the week. So when a PT came into the waiting room I told her to tell my PT that I had arrived. This staffing shortage explained why it was so hard to reach them on the phone, the only way to cancel. You aren't allowed to cancel on My Chart. Because of the Customer Service staffing flaws the rating is 3.5 rounded up to 4.

After being diagnosed with severe arthritis in my right knee, I  started to explore alternatives to…read moretotal knee replacement and decided to have an initial free consultation at Rejuvinix in mid-June. Due to a minor knee surgery and a platelet injection a few weeks prior, I was advised I needed to wait at least four weeks post-operation before beginning treatment. I started my initial treatment in mid-July. The office environment is clean and well lighted, as expected from a medical facility. The front desk staff is consistently nice and professional. I haven't met a doctor on the premises, so I am unsure if one is regularly available. Overall, my experience has been stress-free for the most part.  During my first visit, I expected to receive my first gel injection. Instead, I received a Toradol shot, an NSAID for pain and inflammation. I was initially confused and was informed that patients typically receive 4-5 Toradol shots before starting the gel injections. After my second visit, as I prefer to minimize pain medication, I asked if the Toradol series was mandatory. I was then told it was recommended but not required.  Since most insurance does not cover the gel injection and this is an out of pocket expense I believe this distinction should be explained more clearly upfront, as other patients I've spoken with also seemed to be under the impression that the pain shot series was mandatory before starting the gel injections.  My treatment consisted of five weekly/bi-weekly gel injections. I began to feel a significant difference after the third injection, particularly with lunges and squats. The stiff, locking sensation I experienced during workouts improved considerably, and I've also noticed an improvement in my knee pain, though some discomfort remains. You can receive the series of gel injections every 6-12 months.   For those experiencing joint or arthritis pain, I would recommend researching Rejuvinix, with the understanding that individual responses to treatment can vary.
