Her teachers are friendly and patient, in addition to having a great relationship with the students. The classroom environment is always controlled and you would sometimes see three teachers in the classroom at a time. The school is run like a school and not a "business." It's not too big and very clean. (My child has yet to come home with as a much as a cold). Her vocabulary has increased tenfold, and I have no doubt that it's because of the Goddard School. I would definitely recommend this school. I'm so glad that we decided to send her there. I'm sad to see her move on to Kindergarten.

Ms. Elizabeth, Ms. Amnita, Shannon, Caridad, and Raiza treated my family like their own. Their patience, warmth, and dedication were evident every single day. Ms. Amnita played a huge role in my son's development and lovingly taught him how to walk, a milestone I will forever be grateful for. The facility is always spotless, well-organized, and run by an extremely knowledgeable and caring staff. This center goes above and beyond when it comes to value, care, and child development. I had complete peace of mind knowing my child was safe, loved, and truly cared for. I'm sad to be writing this review as a goodbye, as we are leaving due to relocation, but it was very important to recognize what an amazing facility and team this is. Infant room: we loved the infant room and the teachers that were there at the time. They were extremely caring and helpful. We received a daily report card of all of the things she did. 1-2 our daughter loved the teachers in the year and 2 year room. She thrived and even learned a little Spanish. The teachers worked with us to potty train her. Ms Brenda was very loving and caring. 3-4 they really started teaching them and preparing them for VPK. The had some nice additional things we were able to add on. Our daughter loved the music class and the cooking class. The teacher, Ms Jita (bad spelling of her name)who taught both was so amazing. During our tenure the Director changed. Both Ms Jade and Ms Colleen (the new director) were very good and along with the assist Director (Ms Julie) they made our experience there a good one. We went to visit last year and to our happiness and surprise almost everyone that was there when our daughter was, still worked there. That is rare for this business. The only reason we left was my job changed and I moved our daughter closer to home and also wanted her to make some new friends she'd be going to kindergarten with.

My daughter attended Open Valleys Academy when she was just a toddler, and to this day--now 8 years old--she still talks about the trauma she experienced there. One of the most upsetting incidents involved a teacher named Luz, who was aggressive and rough with the children. My daughter was picked up by the ear--an absolutely unacceptable and abusive act. When I brought this to the attention of the principal, Cristina, she acted as if it was just a "misunderstanding" and brushed it off. There was no accountability, no investigation, no concern. Just excuses. My daughter cried almost every morning before going to that place, and at the time, I didn't understand why. I thought it was normal separation anxiety. I had no idea she was enduring such mistreatment. One day, at only 3 years old, she tried repeatedly to ask the teacher to let her use the restroom. The teacher ignored her, too "busy" to care. My daughter ended up wetting herself. Instead of compassion or understanding, the teacher humiliated her--putting a diaper on her and placing her in the baby room for the rest of the day. That act alone traumatized her. Open Valleys Academy failed my child in the most fundamental way. They did not protect her. They did not care for her. They silenced and ignored her. And the administration, especially Cristina, chose to look the other way rather than confront the cruelty happening under their own roof. No child should have to go through what my daughter went through. No parent should have to live with the guilt of unknowingly sending their child into a harmful environment. Please--if you're considering this school, look deeper. Listen to your child. Trust your gut. I wish I had.
