The Caretaker team they have put together for us have been just tremendous. They are knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, patient, and make every effort to keep my parents safe, engaged, well-fed, healthy, and happy. The management of Visiting Angels has listened to me as to my needs and the type of person we wanted with my parents. They have listened and responded. I am so appreciative of that. I highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone who finds themselves in need of a caring angel for your loved ones. They have been a huge support to me in so many ways. I am so very grateful. Avoid this "provider" at all costs! My father, who is on hospice care, was recently released from…read morerehabilitation for treatment ceom complications due to Parkinsons disease and Dementia. My family contacted this company and proceeded to move forward with home Healthcare to make sure that he would be taken care of for the remainder of his very grim prognosis. We met with a lady named Cindy. During our interview with her, I was very clear of my father's diagnosis and told her that I wanted to be upfront and honest that he gets irritated late at night and that he is not violent, but can be gruff. After the interview, we decided to hire this company for my father's health care needs. My father was released from rehab on March 11th. When Cindy and the other caretaker, Kelly, showed up at our home, I reiterated to them that if my father gets irritated that he is not violent and that he is confused and agitated due to his disease. I also instructed that if there were any issues that Kelly could come and knock on our door, and we would help. When I woke up the next day, I asked Kelly how my father did. Her answer was, " He was fine." Flash forward to March 12th. With 2 1/2 hours until the second shift was due to start, my sister received a call from Loving Touch letting her know that their company would no longer be able to provide services for my father. We were left high and dry at the last minute. My 75 year old mother had to sleep on the floor next to my father over the next week to make sure that he was taken care of. We then read Kelly's notes that she left. She states that my father got aggressive and was threatening to call the police. He was telling her, "Don't touch me." He clinched his fist but did not swing, hit, or even touch her. It was his first night out of rehab after two months, and he was in a new environment and was clearly confused seeing a stranger in the middle of the night. Also, Kelly wrote in her notes that my wife and I were not to be disturbed because we had to work the next day. Those words never came out of my mouth or anyone elses. In fact, I stated the exact opposite. My wife and I sold two businesses and a home to move back to Maine to help my folks. Waking me up to help my father would not be an issue whatsoever. I called and talked to Donna Gormley, the owner, the very next day. You want to talk about a cold person. This lady and her company have absolutely no place being in business. I told her I was very clear about my father's demeanor and what to expect. I told her that they threw him away like a piece of garbage. No one should be treated like this, especially a military veteran of 31 years. It is not his fault that he has the diseases that he has. Her response was, "I am sorry you feel this way." SHAME ON YOU GORMLEY!! YOUR COMPANY IS HORRIBLE AND I HOPE THIS POST DRIVES PEOPLE IN NEED, LIKE OUR FAMILY, TO OTHER COMPANIES THAT ACUTALLY DO CARE! I DON'T KNOW HOW MORE CLEAR I COULD HAVE BEEN WITH YOUR EMPLOYEES TO AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING?! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING COMPANY!!

Dear Constellation Hospice Team…read more I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the care my mother, Lucille Cleo Day, received in her final days at Norway Rehabilitation under your hospice services. My mother was 93 years old and had been under your care since March 5th, 2025. On July 11th I received a text (copy attached) informing me that she was not likely to survive the day. When I arrived at her bedside at 10:30 AM, I found her in obvious and intractable pain, as evidenced by her crying out "it feels like there is a barrel on my chest", "oh my god my back hurts so bad" as well as facial grimacing and moaning. Although the Norway Rehab Medical Director, the Assisted Living Director and your Social Worker were all present or involved it took more than three hours to get her morphine order adjusted to provide the relief she so clearly needed As both her daughter and a retired hospice nurse, I found this delay profoundly distressing and unacceptable. In the most critical hours, when comfort and dignity should be the absolute priority, there appeared to be a serious breakdown in communication and coordination within your hospice team. The failure to manage her pain in a timely manner was not just a clinical oversight, but a deeply personal and emotional wound for my family. I fully understand the complexity of end-of-life care. But these very complexities demand clear protocols and responsive communication, especially when a patient is actively dying and suffering. I urge your agency to carefully review this case and use it as an opportunity to reflect on your internal systems. Families place their trust in hospice during the most venerable and emotional moments of their lives. My family's experience demonstrates that improvement is not only possible-it is necessary. While I am grateful for a few staff members who showed genuine care along the way, the overall experience in those final hours left me with sadness and regret. This letter is not written in anger, but in honesty. I hope you take it as constructive feedback and a reminder of the sacred responsibility your agency holds in these moments that can never be redone. Sincerely, Rhea Kennelly Daughter of Lucille Cleo Day
