I liked Coast Care for my 101‑year‑old mother -- mentally sharp, on hospice, with mobility issues…read more-- who is also seen by hospice staff, a nurse, a doctor, and an independent caregiver I hired. Mom bruises easily, but a Coast Care representative nonetheless reported "suspicious bruises" to hospice. Not true.I trusted this person. No other worker observed anything concerning, yet hospice was obligated to notify Adult Protective Services. Now my siblings and I are under investigation. And once we're in "the system" we have multiple family conferences, care, plans, etc. Hospice has been supportive and agrees the report was unfounded. Elder‑abuse is real and needs to be taken seriously. But this mistaken report has needlessly disrupted our family, and upset my mother. Dumb. Coast Care needs to train their people better.

Relying on Yelp reviews we contacted San Diego Home Caregivers and met with the owner Sterling Miles. It was clear from the start that finding the right caregiver and meeting all of Mom's needs was his top priority. He even gave us information on other options in case his services might not meet our needs. He is genuine in his concern and commitment to providing top level care. We could not have been more impressed when we met Mom's new caregiver Jasmine. Her cheerful, warm personality was a perfect fit, and Mom was immediately comfortable with her. She went out of her way to not only care for Mom but to also help us in any way she could. Unfortunately, by the end of January Mom was at the end stage of her life. Because she was so comfortable with Jasmine, we had her continue to come even though Mom also had Hospice care by that time. She has a calm and caring disposition and is the perfect example for an "Awesome Physical Therapist!" She is professional, knowledgeable, kind, caring, and efficient. She truly made a huge difference in helping my Dad recover from his hip surgery. I can not thank the team who helped me regain some of my mobility, confidence, strength, and happiness enough! Anna, Chaeli (Shay*lee), Christian, & Colleen are the most amazing Physical Therapist(PT)/Occupational Therapist(OT) I have ever had the pleasure of working with! Extremely communicative, fun, optimistic, and always willing to work around you! Mind you, my schedule is extremely flexible, so when there're slight changes to my appt dates/time, it doesn't affect me too much*. You have to understand that they're traveling from patient to patient with little to no break in between, say for their drive. Knowing that, plus seeing how far some have to drive in between clients, gave me a whole new understanding of these caregivers. That being said, if your schedule is already tight, make sure your PT/OT understands that so they can make sure that the time/date(s)byou both specify will be abided by. Made recommendations to make my home safer(OT), and since putting those in place has offered me more confident and safe! Call button for assistance wasn't working (and never checked) Lack of communication between the doctors and staff - caused a handful more "falls" that should have happened. More visits to the ER than anyone should have had. Doctors testing orders ignored, even asking over and over. Promises of "checking on my dad every 2 hours" were ignored and not ever implemented. 2 of us were there everyday and still could not get the quality of care and dignity that my dad deserved and needed. We were lied to daily and staffing numbers were under the mandated requirements. I would not put my worst enemy in Ridgeview. Be very vigilant before putting your loved one here.
