They are conveniently open on Christmas and i really enjoyed the food for this being my first time here

#3 mutten with delicious rice mix

Delicious, authentic Sengalese at an affordable price. I tried the #3 and I look forward to tasting many other numbers...great choice, and even some delicious juices I had never tried before. The staff is amazing and friendly, offering all sorts of tastings ect...only issue appears to be better for pick up rather than dine in, and more so in the winter.. as it only seats a few tables and the front door let's burst of cold air through every shut and close. Looking forward to going back again soon!

This place was amazing! The owner was very kind and very helpful to us in deciding what to get as it was our first time getting Senegalese food. We ordered bissap and bouye to drink, which were both sweet, unique, and very tasty. For our appetizer, we ordered the fish fatayas, which were super flavorful and came with a nice onion sauce. We settled on thiebou yapp and whatever the first selection under the "Sunday" part of the menu was (we believe it was lamb kunde, but it wasn't named) for our entrees, and while we liked both a lot, we definitely favored the thiebou yapp. The lamb in both dishes was tender, the level of spice/ heat was perfect, and the flavor was excellent. Delicious food, more than fair prices, and great service!!

First time eating African food. The owner was very patient , and helpful . I chose Thiebou, similar to fried rice, with a piece of chicken on top. I loved it, and loved me experience at Senetaste. I will definitely be back!

Half of the seating at this great place..how did Yelp not mention it to me?

Oh what a wonderful time we had here! Unlike most African food you have tried. And the service was outstanding. Please go try it out.

I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup (it had a balsamic reduction - which was a really nice touch). My bestie had the slab burger and fries. The burger was so creative with beef, ribs and onions. The fries were also unique and perfect. He loved it all. Someone put a lot thought and love in these dishes. Great experience all around and we will be back!!

Since your business name is "Taste of Chicago" (which…read morescreams of Italian beef), and Italian beef is actually mentioned on your site, it's nowhere to be found on your damn menu. Goodbye.

But that's the only problem they have; if you aren't looking for it, you're probably going to miss it, being recessed among the other businesses. And good luck on the parking. There's not much room, which is a greater issue if that club next door (or 2 doors down) is jumping. And now the good news. I was loving that Chicago-Style Italian Roast Beef sandwich. It truly reminded me of home. Unfortunately, I had to discard most of the hot peppers because the grown version of me can't do it like the teen version. Temperature hot and quite flavorful. Just remember that if you take it home, you'll get that mild sogginess in the bun from the juices and the travel time. I also purchased the Catfish Sandwich, which as good, but not quite the texture I prefer. Not that it took away from the sandwich at all, still, I had to try it. I bumped them from a 4- to 5-star rating because we ordered the German Chocolate Cake and as we were walking out, we noticed that they forgot to include it. After walking back up the counter and informing them, the gentleman apologized and gave us TWO slices. Kindness goes a long way, BOTH ways. Definitely worth checking out. We will be back.

This time I ordered the Sloppy Joe and the Chili Dog again. This time I got Baked Beans and Greens for sides. He deep fries the Hot Dog and then grills it and adds the sloppy Joe mix on top. It makes for a nice slightly crunchy hot dog with a slight crunch to it. The Sloppy Joe was on a premium bun and had great flavor to it. Yummy!!! The baked beans had a slight sweetness to them. Now on to the star of the show which was the Greens. They had a slight bite to them, so tasty with a bit of pork thrown in for extra goodness. This is the type of small business we have to support. Making great food with homemade goodness. Check them out, no disappointment here.

All of the items on the menu looked appealing to me, but the menu needs work. It has items on it without any description of the items. For example, my turkey sub had banana peppers on them. I like banana peppers, but I know a lot of people who don't and can see that being an issue. I ordered online through the business DoorDash partnership, which created a cold interaction with the person working there. He kept telling me to show him that I accepted the order on DoorDash, and asked if it was my first day since I couldn't find the button. I then told him that I ordered the food for myself and his demeanor changed completely and was extremely nice and gave me the order. I have heard of DoorDash people scamming businesses so I understand his caution, but it could have been handled better. It would probably be best if he just asked if it's a carry-out or a DoorDash order. The inside is essentially just a giant kitchen and counter, so carry-out is also the only option. I ordered a turkey sub, coney, and a side of coleslaw. The order was completed in 9 minutes, so keep that in mind if you have a far drive. The food was very good. Probably one of the best conies I have had. It was all very warm and flavorful and had the right balance of everything. If I'm in the area I'd like to try more of their menu.
