Brunch at the Historic Seminole Inn is one of my favorite ways to start a Sunday. Albeit, it's a decent drive to Indiantown. The food along with the hospitality are well worth the drive. This historic Inn is rich with history and the charming ambience offers a comfortable and relaxing vibe. Brunch is a quintessential array of breakfast and lunch items. Moreover, the options are not overwhelming. Some of the featured items include: an omelette and waffle station, carved meats, a salad bar and a wide variety of fruits and muffins. My favorite item is their homemade sweet potato casserole. If you're a fan of fried chicken, theirs is fried to perfection. Coffee is constant because the wait staff is on task and eager to assist. Alcohol isn't on the menu, but they will happily provide an ice bucket if one opts to bring champagne for mimosas. The Inn offers a nice rear patio along with a great front porch to include rockers. Additionally, one can tour the upstairs to absorb some of the history. Reservations are encouraged and the prices are modest.

The Seminole Inn is located in Indiantown located about 30 miles west of Palm Beach. It was settled by the Seminoles in the early 19th century. The tribe found the dry land ideal for hunting. After the Seminole Wars White settlers came to the area in the 1890's. During WWI the Army Corps of Engineers dug the St. Lucie Canal. In the 1920's Indiantown was developed when Baltimore Banker and President of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, Solomon Davies Warfield arrived. He planned to make a model town that would serve as the southern headquarters of his railroad. He had a school, houses, and a railroad station constructed. He also had the Seminole Inn built in 1926 as a focal point of the town. It was designed by architect Henry Stephen Harvey in the Mission Revival style. The Inn's most famous guest was Warfield's niece Wallis Warfield Simpson who would later become the Duchess of Windsor. It is said that she was the hostess for the hotel's grand opening party. In the intervening years hurricanes and the Great Depression led to a decline. The inn was purchased in a dilapidated state in 1976 and restored to its former glory. It was was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 31, 2006. The Inn is filled with old Florida charm. The walls are 20 inches thick. It has a wide front porch with rocking chairs. The lobby has a fire place, hard wood floors, and a 12 foot tall pecky cypress ceiling. My favorite part of the inn is the second floor wall murals that depict the history of the Seminole tribe. The inn received a complete renovation in 2018. Today you can stay in one of the i22 guest rooms or have a meal in the restaurant. Sunday brunch with their famous fried chicken and peach cobbler is served in the Windsor Room while country meals are served up in the Cracker Cafe. The Inn's restaurants are farm to table since they grow and raise much of the food they serve. Whether you are staying overnight or stopping in for a meal you will not want to miss this captivating and historic inn.

Time for a little Southern Food at a Southern Spot. We headed to this Florida feast today for their lunch buffet. It had a salad bar, food bar and a desert bar. I had a salad and it was very good. The food bar had fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, green beans and carrots. They also had a breakfast station that made omelets and any type eggs you might want. The Ice Tea was very strong but good. The food off the food bar was OK but nothing to get excited about. The desert bar was weak. The Vanilla pudding and the peach cobbler were poor! The bread pudding was OL but nothing to tell your Nanna about. For the money and the drive I don't think it's worth it. The atmosphere was grea but we were there for the food and it was to much money for what we ate.

This review is for the Sunday brunch which is out of this world. Just look at the pictures of attached, including that of Luis, the master of omelettes, eggs and waffles! His personality is a key element of the Sunday brunch. On top of the standard breakfast fare, they also feature out of this world fried chicken, roast beef, roast turkey, salads, fruit and cheese plates,Baked desserts like fresh peach cobbler and bread putting, or tasty muffins... Too much to mention, obviously. Look at the pictures and hurry up and get there. Very cool southern hospitality hotel - you need to tour the second floor and look at the murals.

I've been wanting to come to the Seminole inn for over 10 years now. Today I finally had the Sunday brunch!! You can feel the southern charm from the moment you arrive at the large front porch with rocking chairs, plants and decor. It's doesn't stop there several people greeted us before we were through the front doors. The lobby is so perfectly decorated to make it feel historic yet very welcoming. I'm fascinated by the pecky cypress ceiling through the lobby so beautifully preserved. We were showed to our table and immediately greeted by our waiter. Because it was our first time he gave us a run down of everything on the buffet and all the beverages available. I started off with the biscuits and gravy, famous fried chicken, sweet potato casserole and cheesy grits. It was all delicious and the fried chicken definitely gives them bragging rights! My second trip up I got a amazing omelette from the omelette station ran by Luis. bacon and sausage. My final trip was waffles and their famous peach cobbler! One of the most impressive facts about this restaurant is all their foods are locally grown and raised and you can absolutely taste the difference in farm to table menu! It doesn't matter how far you need to drive to check this place out it'll be worth it. Last but certainly not least this place as a great amount of Seminole Indian history and you can see it through the hotel and especially on the second floor of the inn where there is a mural timeline of the events of the Seminole Indians. I appreciate their desire and drive to keep history alive! Now get in your car and go! Enjoy

The lunch dining room - very clean and bright

Note: We didn't stay here - we just stopped in for lunch. We were driving around and came upon this small, charming town of Indiantown. Other than fast food, we didn't see many places opened to eat. Then, we came upon the Seminole Inn. The building was positively beautiful so we circled the block to look at it. It was right before they closed for lunch, but the young man (Jason) was so nice and seated us, then served us. The place is full of so much charm; spend some time looking around at everything. The lobby and both dining rooms were beautiful. The place was clean and comfortable. They have a nice buffet, but we ordered off the menu. We ordered a fried tomato sandwich. We're vegetarians, so we asked that any meat be left off - and they perfectly accommodated that request. It came with a delicious sauce, and some fantastic French fries. Jason was SO nice and welcoming and made it a pleasure to eat here. For dessert we had a delicious bowl of peach cobbler - sooo good. We were so glad that we stopped in here at this historic Inn. We really enjoyed our lunch and the friendliness of it was refreshing. I can't even find one thing to complain about!! When we find ourselves in Indiantown again, we will definitely stop in for another fried green tomato sandwich.

I came back for a lunch at Seminole inn on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised with another great buffet! Seated ourselves at a table and were promptly served with menus and description of buffet, everyone seemed to be enjoying the buffet so it was an easy choice! All was delicious - will be back!

    There's something for everyone.

Worth the drive. We always enjoy the Seminole Inn's Sunday brunch. On holidays, you must call ahead for a reservation or you won't get a table. Their sweet tea and fried chicken is so to die. And I always save room for the peach cobbler! Rich with history, don't forget to tour the upstairs and also explore the outside gardens. Before you leave you must say hi to Cracker, the inn's pet bird!

I loved posing with the bear! LOL

Pros: Quaint and homey! Filled with history. Fridge, microwave, & coffee maker inside the room. Comfortable beds. Accommodating staff. They do not serve breakfast but they provided us with vouchers so we could get breakfast for free at the cafe next door. I loved the activity room with movies, games, books, and the big stuffed bear! LOL Cracker, the parrot in the lobby, was such fun! She is so smart! Cons: There were some fixtures in the bathroom that needed fixing. It would make it look much nicer if that had been done. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back! Thank you!

This is a real B&B - not that crap you find on Airbnb. Beautiful inn with friendly staff and a warm welcoming feeling to it. Feels like I can spend days here relaxing and enjoying the delicious country style food.

Fireplace greets you as you walk in the main lobby.

I went for the Sunday Brunch buffet. Nice food choices. Fresh fruit, omelet, mini pancakes. The pancakes made by Luis was delicious, melts in your mouth; just add fresh whip cream and syrup. Don't forget the pan full of BACON!!!

We had looked online many many times but simply could not choose which room type we wanted as they were all so different. After deciding to just wing it and go see them in person, Cheryl and her staff (and our adorable little furry guard dog Lucy by her side!) could not have been more helpful in giving us a tour and showing us everything we wanted to see and more! We looked at the Bungalows, the little places across the street, the upstairs apartments and finally decided on the Guest House as we loved the big open space with high ceiling and stone floor. Fridge was stacked, coffee at the ready. It was just beautiful! The grounds were great, the pool was a little oasis in the middle of the beautiful gardens, everything designed differently but it all just works! Walking distance to shops and main area with restaurants, cinema etc... I would not hesitate in returning to stay either in the same room or one of the other amazing offerings, and would recommend to anyone. There really is something to suit everyone's needs and more. Hidden is a n operative word as you will not find them on hotels.com, Expedia, etc. but apparently rely on word of mouth, social media, etc and that seems to be working quite well because they seem to be well booked year-round. This place is a family-owned that's operated since 1958 for over 3 generations, I love a family business! It's minutes walk to a couple of restaurants, near the entrance to the bridge and close proximity to the town, shopping, bait shop, seafood outlets, boating, fishing, and everything the area has to offer. It's not a resort this waterfront motel is only 2 miles from the ocean, it's clean and reasonably maintained with some of the nicest staff you could ask for. Irene is the owner/operator and she is really great at making you feel at home and appreciates your business. She communicated before and during our stay and was very, very accommodating to all of our needs and requests, nicely done. There are motel rooms, cottages and even a nice big house that you can rent but we opted for one of the motel rooms (Unit 4) and upon arrival we found a mid-size refrigerator, stove, microwave and comes with a coffee maker, utensils, cups, plates, etc so basically most of what you need to cook meals if you are tired of eating out. The free wifi is fair but functional, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, TV and cable perfect, and the air unit has a remote control so all my boxes were checked :-) There's ample parking, nicely landscaped with palm trees and the tropical plants but just a heads up, most of the houses and businesses on the river road have limited visibility when exiting and there's convex mirrors to aid in your for spotting oncoming traffic. There is a beautiful view of the bridge that takes you over the Indian River onto Hutchinson Island with the sunrise visible in the mornings just behind the bridge. There's a nice long dock just feet away with benches and pole holders that belongs to the motel and you are welcome to use it for fishing or just chillin', I did. Oh yes, they are pet-friendly with some restrictions. Bottom line: We were comfortable and enjoyed our days here and will stay here again when we're visiting.
