I finally just left and walked into Studio M in downtown instead, got in with no wait AND it was cheaper than Supercuts! The owner is so so sweet and remembered me the second time I came back and what kind of haircut I got the last time. Now Studio M is the only place I go. This is a great local business! Bonus: there is a punch card to get a free haircut. I highly recommend checking this place out for your next cut, men and women.

It is in an odd location, a bit more residential then i would have expected but everything else is nice. Like most Hilo places, the outside looks a bit old, but the inside is surprisingly new. It is spacious, brightly lit, comfortable chairs. I was greeted warmly, sat down, and Ranelle got to work. And then just like that, she was done. I was pretty happy with it all. I was thinking of giving this place 4.5 stars, minus half a star because they didn't pick up the phone when I tried to call them. Apparently they all have different cell phone numbers that they respond to (so if the one listed on yelp didn't work, you can try 808-938-8290). But after I left the place, I got a few compliments so i'm bumping them up a bit. It could be that i'm just that great looking on a day to day basis, but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
