Fun pool if a little over priced is nice to go to with a couple of friends and if you go often enough the family pass is %100 worth it.

Southwest Community Center & Pool

Family fun and worry/sunburnt-free!…read more These days I'm all about finding that perfect balance between work, spending time with loved ones, while enjoying activities. That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. If you ever see me poolside with a noodle in hand, say hi! I'm learning how to swim - and it's fun to make some friends while we're at it!

We recently joined Stafford Hills Club after touring four other gyms including the new Lake Oswego…read moreaquatic center which did not impress me but it was nice. After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

I have been a member for about 6 months and really have enjoyed my time. Pros: -Women's locker room doesn't feel super dated. That was honestly a big reason I went with this gym, it was one of the few with a sauna/steam room that weren't disgusting. -Equipment/facility is generally in good condition and clearly proper upkeep is done. -Staff is kind and instructors seem to really care. Special shout out to Genevieve and Janet! -Yoga/pilates room is new and beautiful -This is a bit of a silly one but I love the room that used to be for bikes is now available for those who want a quieter space to work out if the other room has a class going on. Cons: -The class options for before/after normal work hours are incredibly limited. I am more of a class person and have been consistently disappointed with how few options there are. Generally, I think the gym caters to retirees/those who don't work a traditional 9-5 schedule. -Gym area is rather small. This definitely is more of a tennis club and the footprint of the area with fitness equipment is small in comparison to other gyms in the area. I have never had too much trouble waiting for equipment but when it's busy, it can feel cramped.

Ah yes step aside, velvet rope... we're talking about the illustrious Multnomah Athletic Club where…read moredowntown Portland trades its flannel for fine tailoring and a touch of unapologetic luxury. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a world where sweat glistens a bit more elegantly. The MAC isn't just a gym it's a sanctuary of stature. You don't simply walk in... oh no, you belong here. Membership isn't a convenience, it's a declaration. Behind those doors lies a realm of polished marble, hushed conversations, and the faint, dignified clink of perfectly chilled water glasses. Inside, it's sleek immaculately so. Machines aligned like soldiers of fortune, locker rooms that whisper spa-day indulgence, and a calm that feels imported from somewhere far more exclusive than downtown Portland. This is where ambition meets tranquility... where CEOs, legacy names, and those in-the-know escape the city's chaos without ever leaving it. And the vibe? Think Nob Hill with a gym membership and a trust fund. There's no chaos, no clanging weights echoing into oblivion just refined motion, deliberate pace, and an understanding that wellness, like wealth, should be curated. So if you find yourself wandering downtown, peering in like Gatsby outside the green light, just know: this isn't merely a place to work out. It's a lifestyle one you don't stumble into... you ascend into. Lifestyles of the fit and the fabulous, darling.

The a la Grivois cocktail started the experience on a high note: amaro and vermouth together make for a velvety sweetness. The house green soup was a winner, I'm sure the French Onion would be also. We were there for prime rib night and their version rivals that at Clyde's: a hearty cut and full of flavor. At first glance, I was disappointment to see scalloped-type potatoes, but these were the best I've had. The warm bread and salad were above par. Great service by one of the long time waiters.
