I contracted this company in 2017 to do some major renovations in my very first property I owned. I…read morenever had lived in a house before, and to me everything was so new. I had very limited experience with contractors. This company won me over but guaranteeing their work and servicing for "several years". Here is my opinion of them, after a year and a half since they "finished" their work:
1. quality of work: - POOR. They try to do many things "in-house", where their same workers being universally skilled at almost everything and therefore masters at nothing. Quality is from INTERMEDIATE to POOR. Many things had to be re-done, The would break one thing while fixing another, they keep creating more problems as they go along. They would also mislead me into believing that they do certain types of work (electric floor heating) , when they had no experience at all. They did not properly size the area, and installed electric wiring in the floor in a very unsafe and inefficient way, which caused the thermostat to trip. They persuaded me to install the electrical heated floors in the areas, that will never require it, simply due to physics.
2. Third Party Contracting: For come of the work they would hire another company. For the most part they would do the cheapest, low quality work, that would need to be re-done, due to safety concerns. For example they hired a company to install stairs. The quality was so bad, that the steps would start collapsing. I had to warn them of impending injury and wait for a while for them to get it repaired.
3. Procrastination / Abandonment: Even after I repeatedly warned them to winterize the house plumbing, they failed to do it and caused damage to the house. They also failed to secure /remove construction garbage /debris from my property, (despite my repeated warnings) which flew through out the neighborhood and cause me to get multiple violations from the village. They would also disappear for weeks, in the middle of work. I would later find out that they work on another property.
4. Price vs Quality: As I mentioned the quality ranged from MEDIUM to LOW, but the fees they charged where on par with very nicely done, expensive professional work.
5. Warranty. They did not honor their promise and about 8-9 months after they finished, I started having plumbing issues (they installed plumbing). They dont respond to repeated WhatsUp messages or the phone texts or calls. But the funny thing is that I dont trust them, so I rather pay someone else to fix it, rather having them come over and risking them break something else.
In summary, I would definitely not recommend Royalties International Inc.
