From allowing us to do pay-ahead billing to greeting us by name on each and every visit, Forte was fabulous. A few additional items of note. First, unlike most clinics that have a small window overlooking a parking lot, Forte has huge picture windows overlooking a beautiful golf course. Outside the windows you'll see squirrels and birds such as hummingbirds and even brilliantly red cardinals. You might even see a few duffers hacking away and tearing up the turf. Second, parking is easy and plentiful - we never had an issue finding a space right up front. One other thing to mention - their hours. Forte has, at least in my experience, rather late hours. My wife had a couple of appointments where she didn't leave until 5:30PM. The entire staff is amazing. Thank you Sonja for being kind and compassionate to my wife's needs not to mention your patience in dealing with her language barrier issues. Rachel, you often checked in and seemed genuinely interested in my wife's progress. We appreciate that greatly. Diana, the PTA, was also a pleasure to work with and always had kind words of encouragement. Lastly, Grace, sorry for breaking the credit card machine... But seriously, thank you for your kind and courteous nature and in dealing with our insurance issues. You explained things to us which made the process easier to tolerate. In closing, Forte Rehabilitation Clinic has an amazing staff, a beautiful view looking out over a golf course and plenty of parking. They create a very welcoming environment by greeting you by name and checking in on you when another therapist is tending to your rehabilitation. The staff works extra hard in sorting out your insurance which I greatly appreciated. I would return to Forte Rehabilitation without hesitation. Thank you Forte!

The first thing the therapist said to Mike was, "Hi, my name is Adrian and I am going to fix you." For someone who had been having pain in his neck and numbness in his hands for months, that was an infinitely reassuring comment. I went to his first appointment and was really impressed with the therapist. He was friendly and efficient, filling our minds with lots of information to help make Mike's recovery easier. His office assistant was also nice. The best part was hearing someone so definite about what would and wouldn't help Mike's symptoms.

I hunted for a practice that included a specialty in pain management, preferably overseen by osteopaths, and, on the internet, STSR looked like it would be great. They have a long list of orthopedic surgeons, and two osteopaths, with the latter two, Drs. Hirsh and Hall, specializing in pain management. My first two appointments were with the PA - and frustratingly, they kept getting postponed because of his availability. Once I got through that, though, I had an MRI, which led to appointments with Dr. Hall (two now) and epidural injections that are making a real difference in my pain level. NOTE: injections are NOT the right treatment for everyone, they just happen to be appropriate in my case. I will never be totally pain free, and I understand that there are risks to and arguments against the injections -- but it's a bargain I'm willing to make. Dr. Hall is competent, knowledgeable, and careful. The injections themselves are a minor discomfort, thanks to the sedative they give you up front. STSR also has small gym for physical therapy, and seems to treat all kinds of spinal pain and problems. My one complaint - they run waaaay behind schedule. Last appointment was 40 minutes late. So take a book, settle in, and know you'l be there for a while. (I should add that they accept a wide range of insurance including my Medicare & AARP Supplement, which not all docs do any more.)

Through the VA Community Care program, I was referred to South Texas Spinal Clinic for lumbar spine treatment and underwent surgery in October 2025. Following the procedure, I received multiple invoices from downstream providers (Pre-Op Clinic and Touchstone) that I did not select but which maintain a referral relationship with this clinic. When I contacted the office staff for assistance resolving the billing issues, responses were slow, dismissive, and consistently conveyed an "it's not my job" attitude. No meaningful help was provided. I ultimately spent hours on the phone with the VA and the billing providers, only to discover that incorrect authorization and patient information had been shared with these providers by South Texas Spinal Clinic. Veterans and Civilians alike: consider this a warning. The physicians may be capable, but the office staff's failures and indifference turn routine post-op billing into a time-consuming nightmare. Choose another clinic unless you enjoy fighting billing errors on your own.
