I called about 2 weeks before I was to start and the receptionist complained to me that my doctor should have told me to call sooner as they had no openings. We agreed that I could go for my initial evaluation and consult to their Hamden facility (near the tunnel on the Merritt Parkway), and then I could do my follow up appointments in Milford. I completed online all my paper work, scheduled the initial assessment and then heard nothing. When I called them for my Milford appointments, they told me they did not have any and I would need to continue with Hamden. This is a trek from Milford and I was 2 weeks post op and unable to drive yet. Luckily, I was able to find another practice in Milford that was able to see me when I needed to begin. Not impressed.

I have had many surgeries in the past. I've had two fusions in the back, five knee operations, and one neck operation for the spine. Because of their 1 therapist to 1 patient philosophy I not only get the opportunity to thoroughly understand each exercise but to learn more about why each exercise is important. And with a therapist dedicated to my care during each visit, they can quickly spot when they need to modify any activity to make it either easier or more challenging. Was told for diagnosis, to schedule appointment with regular doctor, which I did, but was booked with a PA, not doctor. 45 minutes past my appointment time to see a PA for 5 minutes who did nothing- no new tests, still no diagnosis. Someone suggested a surgeon there. Again almost 45 minutes late past my appointment time to see an older very grumpy surgeon who acted completely annoyed to answer questions . Not a professional environment in my experiences. There are several admin people when you first walk in, most not doing anything but would not check me in - said you have to do it yourself at a touch screen kiosk that no one was sanitizing after multiple people touching it. They were fast to ask for my credit card to get a copay once I checked myself in.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted, temp taken and are sent to start your appointment. They run like a fine oiled machine. The entire staff is amazing! As for Craig, he pushed me just enough to succeed. When I first started I never thought I'd be able to walk again and now I can walk around the block, play catch with my kids, ride a bike and live life. I've been a patient at OSG since July 2016 after a terrible car accident (100% other driver's fault…read moreon I95 rear-end collision with my car) for which I'm still in treatment. I've had wonderful care by the doctors, their staff and the chiropractor I've been treated by at OSG. However, I've had horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE treatment by administrative staff, most especially Billing Dept staff. Now, I have insurance covering the majority of my care so all I had were copays which I maxed out the out-of-pocket by mid-year, each year. Being unable to work, unemployment running out, and waiting for a disability determination and food stamps, I lost my job, my home and finally my apartment in December 2017. I explained this to the Billing Dept (I owed less than $300) that I was now living in my car in Winter and getting $25 gift cards to buy gas and food from my social services counselor. I desperately needed reports sent from my doctors to my attorney so he could negotiate a settlement in my case and I could hopefully afford a modest apartment and living expenses. I assured them they would be paid ANY outstanding bills as I still needed continued care. THE STAFF IN THE BILLING DEPARTMENT REFUSED TO RELEASE ANY REPORTS UNTIL MY BILL WAS PAID. I needed to see my doctor for an appointment which they allowed me to do WHEN I PAID HALF OF WHAT I OWED AT THAT TIME. It is now March 16, 2018 and the Billing Dept. still HAS NOT RELEASED MY DOCTORS' REPORTS. I am still living in my car and my health continues to deteriorate and my situation to worsen. I received $16 a month from the State of CT to live on which I'm appealing and I'm still waiting on disability determination. It's still Winter and it is very cold living in a car. I potentially could have been living in a warm space if my lawyer could have worked out a settlement before the end of 2017, BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE REPORTS FROM THE OSG DOCTORS. THE ONLY DOCUMENTATION MISSING AND STANDING IN HIS WAY IN MOVING FORWARD ON MY BEHALF. The doctors are great, but BEWARE, the Administrative Staff, i.e. Billing have Hearts of Stone. No Compassion. No Empathy. These People Should Not Work For Any Healthcare Agency--Ever!!!
