They give you jelly bears, too. :-) Eat in the restaurant, it is simple German food, but very good. They have an English language menu. Excellent beer, too! Not expensive. Great breakfast with very fresh breads, cheeses and meat. Only around 30 minutes taxi from Hamburg Airport. A nice, friendly place to stay. Very welcoming to lone traveller.

My son and I enjoyed a wonderful 2-night stay this past summer at this hotel, which has more the…read morefeel of a resort, with the extensive grounds and tennis courts, palacious spa, and pool (which allows you to swim underwater into the indoor sauna area). The hotel, located just outside Hamburg, Germany, features indoor squash courts, a tri-level modern fitness facility, and an impressive kursplan with 18 different course from which to choose, taught by 21 trained instructors - 7 days per week. All is included with your stay, except use of the outdoor tennis courts. Moreover, we found the health-oriented buffet breakfast superior to many of the city hotels I've visited, although not as impressive perhaps as Bremen's Elements Hotel, which features fresh bread and pastries baked on-site and unlimited fresh-squuzed orange juice. Also...., close to some really fine running/biking paths, but not so close to Altstadt of the harbor, which you could grab a bus (20 min.) or bike to. Finally, the rooms are on the small side, if you're accustomed to the Marriott, for example. Well, that's my quick review, for those more dicriminating travelers.
