First the good: the rooms are very roomy and have great views. Staff were friendly and spoke perfect English. Bed was comfy. Rainfall shower head was amazing. The location is fantastic - connected to the conference center, basically in the huge beautiful planten en blomen, and next to S bahn and U train stops. Lots of electrical outlets in convenient locations. Gym was small but nice. Newly remodeled (though, see below for the downside of that).
Now the bad: If you are at all sensitive to noise when you sleep (as I am) please read the below before booking.
The room's floors in this hotel are fake (i think) wood. Although this looks snappy, it is well known that it is terrible for noise. In fact many condos ban wood or laminate because it makes life miserable for the people below. Radisson obviously didn't know or care about this but it is a huge, huge issue. The people walking above me literally sounded like someone playing the drums, and unfortunately I had someone who was very active (and/or jet lagged and/or on speed) so was up stomping around all night and day. I doubt they were even stomping - the insulation is so poor that I could hear them closing their window and moving furniture around as well. When you've got what sounds like band practice above you at 2 am, it's a non-starter. And what do you tell the front desk - ask your neighbors to stop walking? And this will be an issue in any standard room you get since they're all like this i believe. I asked the front desk if this was normal, and they hesitated - then said well no, they would move me. Guess what? Same exact problem.
Also, there is an window between bathroom and bedroom, and the blind is on the outside. So, your roommate has control of whether to see you shower or not. Could be the premise of a bad romantic comedy. WiFI is free but slow and spotty; it was out for several hours at a time on multiple nights of my stay.
I'm club carlson silver but that didn't get me anything here, not even an acknowledgement.Overall, this was not worth the steep price. read more
