No frills to the nth degree. Our room was 10x10. No iron unless you go down to the lobby to use it…read more Their "security" is a joke. You leave your key with them when you leave the premises, but many times, there's no one there when you return so we all just walked behind the desk and retrieved a key for ourselves! Elevator can comfortably hold 3 standing adults without large purses, or 1 adult with luggage. NOT accessible to anyone who has mobility issues who needs a scooter or wheelchair. Considering how premium space is in the elevator, I watched 3 staff members get in and leave several customers waiting instead of taking the stairs during the times of peak usage. The elevator also hasn't been programmed to complete a task. For example; carry all those going up then stopping at the floors going down. Instead it stops at all floors canceling the call at the floor. Again, seeing staff members taking up precious space really irked me. We had an empty soap container in our shower so had to get out while dripping to squirt some from the sink. After our shower, we removed the empty container & threw it away & put the full one from the sink on the shower floor (didn't want to break the connection points). That evening we saw a new soap container at the sink only to find in the morning when we took our showers again, they had just put the original one back and we were dripping across the floor once again to get soap! Breakfast was doable, nothing to write home about. Standard cold cuts, bread, jam, cereal & yogurt. Nothing hot. Area around the hotel is going downhill with a lot of graffiti and homeless camped out around the corner near the park & metro entrance. Not all was bad. I'm giving it 2 stars because the gentleman during the day shift at the reception desk was helpful and fluent in English.

When family and friends come to visit, we send them here and so far everyone has been pretty happy. Comfy beds, quiet (if a bit warm) bedrooms plus as others have said the breakfasts are great. No parking but the place is less than 0.5k from St Pauli and Stadthausbrucke stations. It overlooks Planten and Blomen, and very good for the DOM, the Ice Rink / Roller Rink, Hamburg Life museum plus the River front and docks. The nightlife of the Reeperbahn / Kiez is just moments away, but not TOO near!!

It's near the Autobahn, but not good for visiting the inner city with public transportation (last bus returns at midnight back to the hotel). Quality: Clean hotel rooms with nice and comfy beds. Nothing to complain about. Also we loved the fitness and wellness rooms. Everything was totally brand new. The gym equipment, the sauna and also changing rooms and showers (in 2015). Also we were nearly alone. Very good for relaxing. Service: Everybody was nice and friendly.

The beds are usually a twin size but ask for extra pillows (I always needed 3) to beef up your head. It is mostly other business travelers and you can easily walk to many places in Ahrensburg. For instance, the town center is a short 10 minute walk where there are many restaurants, pharmacy, bank/ATM and some nice pubs. Most of the restaurants & pubs are CASH ONLY so bring your Euros. The business area where the companies are mostly situated, "Gewerbegebiet Nord" is a quick €8 taxi ride OR you can walk through some nice neighborhoods over the train tracks, about 45 minutes. I found this exhilarating both at the beginning and end of a long day. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and the breakfast is excellent (which is why I walked to work). Also, very easy to get into downtown Hamburg either by the "S" bahn (commuter train) or the "U" bahn (subway). They are in different stations. S-bahn is quicker; U-bahn makes more stops. I always felt very safe everywhere I went in both Ahrensburg & Hamburg. Enjoy.

There is no A/C in the rooms (was told it is broken in all the hotel) although the temperature outside was 25C, similar to the interior temperature. I was told to leave my window open (!) which really didn't help. Street noises reach the 5th floor, and range from traffic noise to people screaming/taking loudly in the middle of the night. My shower's water was intermittently alternating from burning hot to icy cold, and wifi was almost non-existent. For a price of almost $200/night, this hotel is overpriced and in need of maintenance. Definitely not recommending it, and I am not going back.
