Our experience with Selah House has been a nightmare. Our daughter was there for 40 days. She got WORSE while she was there. My wife and I were basically excluded from here treatment plan and treated like the problem. My daughter has an eating disorder, but she as always been obedient. She has never told me "No" until we were on a conference call with her and her therapist at Selah. Never. In the end, Selah told us she had to leave because she needed a higher level of care after 40 days. The communication was absolutely terrible. Getting someone on the phone, besides the receptionist in the business office, was nearly impossible. We were outright lied to a number of times by staff. Her therapist would not even reliably relay messages from us to our daughter when we asked. Amos, the CEO, quite nearly refused to find out our daughters current weight even after a heated exchange. He acted like we were not qualified to know. I had two interactions with Amos and both were like dealing with a sales manager at a car lot. No straight answers. Manipulative. Frustrating. He did not address our concerns to our satisfaction. My advice: Unless your daughter is 100% on board with recovery, go somewhere else. This place is for the easy cases. Also, Selah House is basically in a subdivision, not out in the country the way they would have you believe. read more

i went here when i was 13. the staff have a few hours of training, and they are not required to have any prior experience. i was not listened to. a staff member committed non contact se*ual a*use (censoring so my comment isnt removed), when i reported them, they moved over to the adult house for two weeks and then CAME BACK. me and all the other patients there were children, and you were supposed to take care of us, and you failed. read more

This place is the worst facility I think that is in existence. I have been in treatment several times and I still cannot believe the lack of professionalism in this facility. The therapists were horrible they did not care about me or my well being the nurses were grossly underqualified and the staff was just collage students as opposed to registered nurses as I have experienced at other places. It has been a year sense my time at Selah and I have a lot of time to reflect. Selah house almost cost me my life. I was very sick upon entering I was absolutely refusing food and as my time went on I began refusing water which I had never struggled with before entering Selah. The staff would often threaten to take me to get an IV and then they never would just allowing me to get sicker and sicker with the excuse that they didn't want to take me to a public place where I could get covid. I was drinking less than 6 ounces a day and the healthy average is 64 and I was supposed to be drinking 120 because of how dehydrated I was. It got so bad I was unable to stand on my own. The day before I was removed from treatment I was told I had about 3 days before my body shut down. I was literally dying and Selah refused to get me help. Selah house then removed me from the program saying I needed a higher level of care after over 60 days there and at the very last second before I would literally go into kidney or heart failure. They never once made me eat my meals and just kept telling me it was going on my record that I didn't. The staff excluded my family from my treatment to a point that they had no clue what was going on with me while I was literally dying. Selah makes no effort to help you and the little bit of therapy offered is pitiful. Also after 60 days there I never once got to see the horses which apparently existed. being removed from Selah house was the best thing that ever happened to me I ended up being sent to Rogers (AN amazing program I would highly recommend) and I was placed with a feeding tube on the first day. The staff at Rogers were appalled that a professional facility like Selah could allow a child to get so bad with out getting them better help. This place is a disgrace and should be shut down please I am begging who ever reads this DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this place. I almost lost my life due to the unprofessionalism and I will never forgive them for that. I pray one day this facility will be closed and no one will ever have to face what I did. A treatment facility should not let a person get that bad without any care. Clearly there only concern is money and it is discussing. Also the photos are very misleading it is literally just a house in a neighborhood not a beautiful ranch as they want you to think! I cant stress enough how awful this place is! read more
