I had personally gone through one of the worst times in my life and was dealing with PTSD after childbirth. This therapist was the coldest, rudest, non-empathetic individual. She decided it would be ok to "diagnose" me to my husband (now my ex) with a personality disorder after he begged for reasons why I was acting the way I was. This was unbeknownst to me until he filed court documents in recent years, citing what Devan had mentioned to him, as a could be, while I wasn't in the room. Devan is not accredited to diagnose anyone. She is not a psychiatrist by any means. I have a psychiatrist and nothing on my medical records shows what she indicated. Point being, this person is supposed to be an unbiased supporter and a helping hand to healing marriages regardless of personal opinion and persuasion. Again, making a medical diagnosis is so far from the scope of capabilities here. Unfortunately, unfounded, unprofessional, and damaging are better describing words for this organization.

This location is in Fishers, Indiana. Finally, I left a message explaining we will keep looking if we are not able to connect with Mr. Brown and finally our message and contact information was given to him. He called us the very next day, very professionally answered our questions, level set our expectations in alignment with his experiences, and gave us our first date we would meet. He asked us to call the main number so we can lock in the date with payment. So I left a message at 1:43 pm (EST) explaining we would like to pay and get the information to have our virtual meeting on Dec 16th, which Mr. Brown verified was available during our call. However, we did not receive a call back until 6:07 pm from Devon and she stated he did not have that date open on his calendar. Now, why would someone agree to meet us and then commit our time to someone else which is very skeptical to say the least. Devon did not stop there but stated several times she could get us another therapist even though we specifically asked for Mr. Brown. She also did this prior when we were trying to connect with him initially; poor taste. Then after I pressed her back saying he told us to schedule December 16th, she said he does not have openings until after the first of the year and by that time my fiancé who overheard our conversation said never mind. Mr. Micah Brown is very professional and polite however I think he may be better off creating his own practice and provide a different avenue for clients and potential clients to engage with him. For Devon to be a therapist, she created more barriers than actively trying to connect us and that is not the type of person you want to deal with while seeking help.

I am writing this review with such a heavy heart. Many mixed emotions around this…read more Three years ago after 60+ phone calls I found MindFit Counseling and got connected with a counselor. The first year went very well. I was very excited to have a therapist that looked outside the box that had training in modalities that had not been tried with me in the past and I had Hope. I had hope that things would get better. I was connected with the owner as my therapist and at that time I thought the world of her. The more we work together the more problems surfaced. I know she shared with me very early on in our relationship that she was on the spectrum and I gave her grace for that. I educated myself so that I could give her that grace and better understand communication issues that we were having. She started making comments that she was reliving my trauma with me (multiple times), not OK. Last Thursday she made the comment during session that my trauma history and my life is a burden on her. If she is struggling with secondary trauma that badly she needs to look for help herself, not take it out on her client. That is so unprofessional and unethical to say to a client, she made those comments multiple times and last Thursday was the final straw for me. I slightly raised my voice to her and I was in tears and I said you're not the one that's had to live it. I disconnected our virtual session. Shortly, after that, I got a very nice email from her and supportive email and stating that she was not going to give up on me and that she does understand that I am the one that went through the trauma and that relives it frequently and then a little over 24 hours later I get an email from her the complete opposite. She's terminating services with me, I'm fine with that. I do not have a issue with not seeing her. I had previously spoken with another clinician in that office and was discussing if I were to stop seeing this individual would I still be allowed to work with the secondary therapist? I do have an issue with the way she went about. Throughout these three years with her, she has taken a phone call from her husband during session to talk about bathroom remodel and what type of mirror she wanted in the bathroom and where she wanted the curling iron holder to be placed, she took a phone call from her son about a business he was wanting to start for auto repairs, on her phone and responding to emails during session. Last Thursday she was ordering her lunch at the start of our session. She always starts sessions late, sometimes with go over to account for the lost time, but not often. Yet she does not adjust her billing for her lateness. How much more unprofessional and unethical can a provider get, oh wait it doesn't stop there. A couple years ago she called my emergency contact which there was just a general release of information signed not a specific and she sat there and had a conversation with my friend. Neither one of them were up front about this when I started asking questions. My friend called me and started talking to me about things that I have not told most (only 1 provider), then after a few weeks my friend said that my provider had called her. I asked my provider what did you tell her and the provider pop of answer was "I don't remember what all we talked about". Well that broke our friendship up and we no longer talk. for a provider that is fairly young in her early 40s to look at therapy through the medical model not client centered really blows my mind. This provider this owner of this practice does not partner with the client. It's either this providers way or the highway. It really is not setting with me well at all that this provider more or less called me a liar on something. She was wanting to connect me with a community mental health Center to receive case management and skills services and continue working with MindFit for my individual therapy. She made a referral back in October 2025 and I was willing to go along with it, see what they could offer. See if there was anything that they could do to help and was told because I do not qualify for Medicaid, I do not qualify for an MRO package, which is what case management and skill services fall under and that that specific community mental health center does not bill cash out-of-pocket for those services and everything was dropped at that point . She said that she was going to do a referral to another community mental health center at that time, clearly she didn't do it, which was fine, but she ended up doing it this week and the same thing. I specifically told her if there was a 10% chance they could assist, I would consider. I was willing to check it out and I made the phone calls, was asking about case management services and skills services. You know what would be available for me. I was told the exact same thing that MRO packages Medicaid rehab option is only available with Medicaid recipients. Yes, my health insurance w

I cannot thank Samantha Sheehan enough. I walked into her office just a few months ago,…read moredesperately trying to get as much as I could out of A.A. meetings, being eaten alive by guilt and shame of my past behavior, and facing criminal charges if I didn't comply with Hamilton County. She took me in for my first visit on a Sunday afternoon of all times. What's been happening under her care is nothing short of extraordinary: we have had twelve sessions as mandated by the county prosecutor, and she has successfully been coaching me through one of the most difficult years - maybe *the* most difficult year - of my life. I write this paragraph in the present tense because even though I've fulfilled my obligation to Hamilton County I'm not done seeing Ms. Sheehan. We click. I tried another therapist before visiting MindFit. Those sessions -- held over Zoom -- were definitely not dialogues. I mentioned A.A. meetings, above: it seemed for a while like A.A. was the only place I could go to get real help. Even with problems that had nothing to do with alcohol. I felt helpless. But the very first face-to-face session Ms Sheehan and I had, we had an amazing give-and-take discussion. I left my first session blown away by the stark contrast between a relationship with a therapist that works, and a relationship that doesn't. Finally I had a way to make progress on all of the post-drinking issues I have been going through. What's happened to me so far? I can forgive myself, just a little, now. I couldn't, before. I can look at the person in the mirror and say that that guy isn't a terrible person. And it was Samantha's incredible kindness, forgiveness, and reassurance that has made me OK with who I am. Some more honesty: I have been putting in a decent amount of work elsewhere to get through this chapter of my life. I go to A.A. meetings every day of the week and live out loud, there. I pick up the phone these days and call my council of friends and my sponsor to talk things out. I've picked up some incredible friends elsewhere and they've been crucial to my recovery. If you're sailing the same type of boat as I am, you would be wise to do the same. But even my council of friends and my sponsor couldn't hold a candle to what Samantha's done. Samantha was always the final arbiter of the advice I'd gather over the week. I can't write a review that even comes close to describing how grateful I am for her help. MindFit Counseling knows what they're doing, and they should know they have a gem working for them. You will be in good hands here.

How is therapy going to help when you have to wait that long in between appointments right? The mental health industry has just been completely inundated since the beginning of the pandemic. I just decided I would wait a while. I also struggled to find a therapist who I felt I could relate to, as a female millennial. It was important to me to feel comfortable enough to discuss my views on what is going on in the world and not have to feel awkward because my therapist is older than my mother and I worry she is judging me for my views, tattoos, and clothes. We most likely are just not going to relate to each other. Anyways, I was being specific for what I wanted in a therapist. Fast forward to April of this year and I decided to try again. I found Hamilton Professional Consulting online and filled out a request form. I explained everything I was looking for and received a call within an hour! I spoke to one of the therapists there and she recommended I see Leslie. I said great! That evening, Leslie emailed me and gave me access to the patient portal. The portal makes it really easy for you. Leslie is quick at responding to requests for a reschedule. Leslie has been amazing! I'm so thankful I found her. If you are looking for a laidback, chill, and easy going therapist who knows her stuff, then you have found that with Leslie. I have full confidence in her abilities and plan to see her every week for a while to work through things.
