Overall, the objective was accomplished, the barn now has a working garage door, but it's unfortunate that the quality of service was so unsatisfactory we'd be hard pressed to give this company another chance to complete future projects or to receive any referral business.

He briefly said he was "sorry," but did not show me what the issue was, what he tried, or why he believed the installation couldn't be completed. I had turned on the AC in the garage for him and checked on him periodically. While I was in the kitchen, he called and said, "I am going to pass." I didn't understand what that meant. He walked past me, got in his truck, and began pulling out of my driveway. When I asked for clarification, he repeated that he was "going to pass," and said he didn't have the proper tools and that the job would take him a day and a half. He had already packed up his tools before calling me. He offered no walkthrough of the problem, no explanation of what he saw, and no guidance on next steps -- only that "maybe another tech would have the proper tools." I was left confused, with my garage contents moved outside and rain expected. If a technician truly believes a job cannot be done, I expect at least a basic explanation of the issue and how they reached that conclusion. None of that happened here. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this technician. Clear communication and professional courtesy are essential, and neither was provided. To make sure I wasn't misunderstanding the situation, I contacted Precision the same day. Their technician ( Kaleb) arrived promptly, assessed the tight clearance in my garage, explained what he was seeing, and worked through several possible solutions. He even called his supervisor for guidance. HIs supervisor volunteered to come out help, it wasn't necessary Kaleb handled it and No special tools were needed, he completed the installation in about three hours -- installing a higher‑quality motor than I originally expected. He showed me the concern Richard may have had, but it was not an actual obstacle once someone took the time to evaluate it properly. Highly recommend Kaleb, polite, respectful and dedicated to the installation
