Our toddler started at the school in August 2025 and he has LOVED it. Not only has he been safe, nurtured, and loved - he has also learned and developed a great deal and has made many new friends. His ability to maintain concentration, complete tasks independently, and verbalize thoughts and emotions has grown leaps and bounds. Indeed, Foothill Montessori is not just a daycare for toddlers and infants - the curriculum and staff provide schooling and learning just like they do for any other age group. I can't say enough good things about my son's Teachers (called "Guides"). Their respect for each child and their ability to teach and manage toddlers - all while maintaining utmost safety within the classroom - is second to none! The curriculum also includes a fantastic music program (which our little guy adores), as well as specific emotional / social development teaching by a dedicated (and amazing) staff-person. Not only have the education and experiences been great for our little guy, but the setting itself is nothing short of pristine. Most other schools (and especially daycares) are slightly dingy and also noisy. Not Foothill Montessori. The building is beautiful, light-filled, and extremely well-maintained. And it's shockingly quiet when you walk the halls. The Teachers / Guides are clearly super-engaged and cultivating an environment that keeps the youngsters' attentions. Most important, the entire staff knows and cares for each and every child. The leadership team and front-office staff seem to know everyone's name. I've observed them greeting by name every single parent and child who enters the school - from infants all the way up to 6th graders. I love dropping our son off to school, as I've come to consider the staff as good friends. And we've also been able to connect with fellow parents and enjoy playdates with other children. In addition to our toddler, we will be enrolling our infant daughter in a few months. All this to say -- I can't recommend Foothill Montessori enough and would give more than 5 stars if I could!

We were drawn to the school because of their small class sizes, strong academic curriculum, and beautiful facility. We have stayed at Rowland Hall because of their amazing teaching staff, the school's constant efforts to strengthen the student learning experience, and the wonderful inclusive community. One of the many strengths of the school is their amazing faculty. I'm always amazed by how well they know each child, but also how well they bring out the best in each individual. I feel like the school does a great job in building individuals who are strong critical thinkers, but also individuals who love to learn. It affected her cognitive abilities and she was forced to miss a good amount of school as well as special events of senior year. The kind, discreet response of the teachers and administrative staff blew us all away. They were fiercely protective of her. My daughter is pretty private but the students and their parents who knew were equally as amazing! Character was high with the kids (they didn't gossip much like you might find at another school, held her confidences and, as a result, feel like the school will forever be in my heart. The only issue that holds me back is that I feel it can be very rules heavy, a bit punitive (kids were expelled and punished for little). It lacks a vibrant social scene, can be a bit provincial in its academic and enriching offerings and can tend to mute students from sharing thoughts and expressing themselves. The last thing is that students don't really head committees or initiatives in junior or senior year... they really should and parents should be nowhere to be found. High school is the time to try new things and fail. Prom committee, the school store, a real school newspaper...They really aren't encouraged to as the parent body leads all. This proved tougher when my daughter went off to high school. Other than that, great school with great classes and teachers, special kids and- for the most part- a wonderful, warm parent body. Glad I made the final decision to have my child attend this elementary. The teachers are amazing as I have met and know them first hand and have witnessed them spending their time individually with each student as if it were their own child. I love that I am able to help out with any school activities as well for my own child's classroom. The PTA is awesome here! I love the "no-bully" rule at this elementary, it definitely helps with all children's behavior anywhere on campus. I love this school so much that I make sure to donate to the school, class room, events, etc. I enjoy knowing that they have plenty of supplies for all of the students, not just 1-10, lets share and make it 1-800.
