The first night, I arrived in town rather late and had not eaten much all day coming from LA to Munich and then driving to Traunkirchen. The kitchen had closed by the time I rolled into town and they were just serving a few locals drinks at the Stammtisch. However, when I explained that I had not eaten for quite a while they nicely offered to make me a quick snack and through together a nice plate of bread, meat and cheese to go with my beer. Ohhhh, it tasted so good and my trip was off to a great start! Over the next week, I ate several breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here and enjoyed all of them. Besides the food, the location is beautiful and the town so quaint. I enjoyed the bar upstairs on evening and would highly recommed this fine place to any hungry, thirsty or sleepy souls!

Sitting on the balcony, right on the lake, with a glass of wine. I told my husband that I never wanted to leave! We also had dinner at their lakefront outdoor dining area and it was fantastic! I had the trout fillet with a lemon sauce that was out of this world. It was probably swimming in the lake one hour before I ordered it. Seriously, one of the best pieces of fish I ever had. It came with baby potatoes that were cooked with butter and parsley. The people there are wonderful and very helpful, they don't provide refrigerators in the rooms, but when I brought a bottle of wine from the supermarket back to the kitchen, they were happy to chill it for us in the refrigerator downstairs. If you ever get to visit this wonderful place, do stay or have a meal there, it is really special.

We initially chose to sit closest to the lake before the bees starting bothering us. The service was pretty quick and they were cash only. The food was delicious after a day of hiking. The clear soup with the pancake was sooooo tasty! For dinner I had the Gorgonzola chicken wrapped in bacon served with noodles. It tasted great!! My friend was not as hungry and went for the smaller option/kinder turkey schnitzel. It was actually pretty large and came with fries! If we had had more time before making the ferry it would have been a great spot to just hang out and grab some beers as well.
