The back yard patio is so nice with the most beautiful view. When we went it was very peaceful We got the cheese dumplings soup which was very good but the rest of our meals were so so salty. Almost inedible ( although almost every meal we have had here has been the same.) our potatoes also came out warm almost cold. The service is friendly but slow and no one came to check up on us thru out the meal. If you're going for the view eat here if you're going for the food maybe go somewhere else

Friendly service, very accommodating, beautiful view lakeside and excellent food. Had dinner there 2 nights in a row. Loved their potato soup as well as pork with mushroom sauce, noodles and roasted vegetables which was cooked to perfection.

THE BEST pasta - I think it was the pesto pasta

This restaurant inside the hotel is a not so hidden, hidden gem! We first stopped by around 1pm on a Saturday, and were told because of the large groups and reservations, we may not be seated for another 30 minutes. We came back at 1:30pm, but ended up having to wait until almost 2pm until we were seated. So worth the wait! Pretty much the whole restaurant emptied out at the same time so we had the restaurant to ourselves. The beer was great, and the food - FANTASTIC! We had the trout, which came with potatoes and creamy dill sauce. The trout was so fresh and the whole plate was delicious. We also ordered a pesto pasta - I'll preface my opinion by saying I've never been to Italy, but have had really good fresh pasta - this was the best pasta I've ever had! I don't think we walked in hungry, but we devoured our plates. I'm not sure if it was because the chefs had one table to cook for, or if they are always on point. Either way, highly recommend this spot. We sat inside as it was a bit chilly the day we visited, but can imagine the experience being that much more elevated sitting outside with the gorgeous view off of Lake Hallstatt.

Located near the old town square.

Stayed here for a destination wedding and had the most memorable and fabulous time. The room was…read moreclean and very comfortable. Water and an expresso machine in the room. Fridge too! Breakfast was also included in with the wedding room rate and it was one of the most awesome breakfasts I have had ever. Fresh breads (croissants, rolls, etc.), plus so many different jams to choose from. Fish (e.g. lox, white fish, etc.), cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, a european like meat (kind of like luncheon meat?), drinks (including coffee from a most amazing coffee machine with freshly ground beans, etc.). Wifi was also available and included (e.g. no extra cost). The reception was held there too and the food was just as amazing for dinner. It started out with the traditional pumpkin soup. I chose the steak, green beans and baked potato for my entree. For dessert they had creme brulee, fruit and a small scoop of ice cream. Very delicious and satisfying. The wedding reception midnight snack was goulash which I had a piece or two of and yum! yum! Service was top notch. We went for 7+ hours. The music/band was great (different review). It was a night to remember. Amazing

Amazing view!!! Stayed on 3rd floor of Haus Seethaler, and I woke up early each morning (stayed two…read morenights) to enjoy the view and quietude. Be aware though, this part of the hotel does not have air conditioning, but as it had rained a bit while we were there (late August), the room felt just perfect. We also bad dinner at this hotel both nights, and we were pleasantly surprised :) Reasonable price and delicious/good amount of food! Service was also great, and you get the lake view from the restaurant! I will be going back to this hotel, hopefully in the near future

Seehotel is a great way to stay and explore Hallstatt. I…read moreloved their warm service, they allowed us late check-in at 11 PM and kept everything ready at the counter. Breakfast was abundant and tasty with a mountain view Beds are quite basic but clean and tidy. Bathrooms are compact but easy to use. ONE CONCERN: They did not let us know about parking cost. They simply told us to park in a paid lot that costed us unexpected $20-30 for 2 days - atleast a heads-up would've helped.

The hallway area looks very traditional but the rooms are sparse and full of pine and white. It was simple but somehow also cosy. There is just one restaurant that is within walking distance. The bakery is about a 10 minute walk into town so that is also doable. The hotel has an outdoor pool (didn't use...was 50 degrees and raining). However, the room has a covered balcony with a small table and two chairs. It was just adorable. I enjoyed having a cup of hot tea this morning with a variety of teas to choose from. Interestingly there were two restrooms-one with a small sink + shower and one with a really small sink + toilet. There are 3 separate radiators so it's a great place to do makeshift laundry. Cons: A lot of morning light The online website we booked through noted the restaurant has a free breakfast. This is not being offered right now due to construction. You can opt for a breakfast in a paper bag for an additional €5. Need more parking! There were 4 spaces for 15 rooms Nowhere to actually open up a suitcase
