I am a big fan of their Scholle. 24€ seems to be a lot but you get two big pieces that is worth the price given the quality. The fish and chips are nice and the amount of fish is also great. I felt 15€ was a bit overpriced for it though and we've had better fish and chips elsewhere in Germany but the overall experience and taste made it worth 5 stars for me to come back whenever I am in Lübeck

Just as the name translates to "freshly caught", everything tasted simply fresh and local. We got the Nordic snack, fish soup, salmon burger, and salmon with potatoes, mushrooms and peas - everything was tasty. The soup that we started with was so flavorful and bold, with the skewered shrimp perfectly cooked. Incredibly generous portions. Very cozy, relaxed atmosphere with candles lit and quite full for 7p on a Tuesday. They also have a stand across the street by the water, featuring fish and chips plus fischbrotchen, bier and vino. It is a nice addition, people can eat by the water and relax.

We wouldn't have found it without him, on a much quieter and more interesting part of the port than the main drag--eating fish near fishing boats holds a definite charm. Since we aren't familiar with any of the regional fish, the waiter recommended the mixed plate for 2- it contained 5 large filets, most lightly breaded and all fresh and delicious. Huge portion of savory baked potatoes and small, plain salads. Simple and picturesque atmosphere with quick, attentive service. We really enjoyed this meal.

In general the food in this part of the world is a little rich for me, breaded fish with french fries (oof!) but it was well prepared. We shared the fish platter

We then had a platter with a selection of fish that was superb - very fresh and a nice selection of salmon, turbot, pollock, shrimp and flounder which was perfectly done and super fresh. It came with a salad that I found wonderfully refreshing and very tasty. Fischtempel is a must for anyone in Travemunde who loves fish - the price to value is exceptional. I rarely give 5 star reviews but considering the quality and reasonable prices, this is a home run. Don't look for elegance - the concentration is on the food. Note that they do not take credit cards.

Great Backfisch! Awesome crunch and great service…read more The only reason we did not give 5 stars is because we found the piece was very small for 13€ and we think the seelachs sea salmon is not the best fit for backed fish. We'd rather have the cod. Next time I'd only order the Backfisch for 4.50€ the piece. It's a better value than the whole dish. We end up paying 45€ for a bottle of water and two Backfisch dishes which was great, but slightly overpriced. Would be come again, absolutely! We'd just order single small pieces of the Backfisch. The Remouladensaucen was also great! Definitely worth a visit.
