The soup that we started with was so flavorful and bold, with the skewered shrimp perfectly cooked. Incredibly generous portions. Very cozy, relaxed atmosphere with candles lit and quite full for 7p on a Tuesday. They also have a stand across the street by the water, featuring fish and chips plus fischbrotchen, bier and vino. We then had a platter with a selection of fish that was superb - very fresh and a nice selection of salmon, turbot, pollock, shrimp and flounder which was perfectly done and super fresh. It came with a salad that I found wonderfully refreshing and very tasty. Fischtempel is a must for anyone in Travemunde who loves fish - the price to value is exceptional. I rarely give 5 star reviews but considering the quality and reasonable prices, this is a home run. Don't look for elegance - the concentration is on the food. Awesome crunch and great service…read more The only reason we did not give 5 stars is because we found the piece was very small for 13€ and we think the seelachs sea salmon is not the best fit for backed fish. We'd rather have the cod. Next time I'd only order the Backfisch for 4.50€ the piece. It's a better value than the whole dish. We end up paying 45€ for a bottle of water and two Backfisch dishes which was great, but slightly overpriced. Would be come again, absolutely! We'd just order single small pieces of the Backfisch. The Remouladensaucen was also great! Definitely worth a visit.
