My grandparents have been customers for years and gave me the family referral necessary to start banking here. It takes just $5 to open a checking account or a savings account. You can do both with $5 in each. This enables you to get a credit card (with credit approval of course). All great resources if you're a student at Tech. They also have great savings and investment/CD rates. This branch is convenient for the south side of town, and their remote teller ATMs are unique and efficient. This is a great credit union.

I applied for a personal loan trying to pay off a high interest credit card- thought this is what credit unions are useful for instead of big banks. I was denied and the loan officer could care less or try to help me figure something out- my previous loan officer was so helpful and went above and beyond to help - and was successful- this new one is very cold and not customer service oriented. I even had a co-signer that has an amazing credit score and a paid off house and paid off cars. Hope this credit union can go back to caring about their customers. I will be finding a new one to move my business to and will definitely not recommend TTUFCU to people when they ask online who to use.

All this on top of charging us $40 for a very small amount of checks and when the fee for that went through they charged a $20 nsf fee because they were still putting a hold on the account. We were told numerous times a bank manager would call but never did. We closed the account 17 days after opening it because it was useless to us. I have several accounts and have never had any of these restrictions. Opened an account at a different back today and also had none of these restrictions. Terrible place to do business.

The final issue that pushed me to close all of my accounts was their mishandling of a vehicle insurance situation. I had active insurance coverage and provided documentation--multiple times, including physically delivering it to their office where it was signed for. Despite this, they failed to process it correctly and attempted to backdate and charge me for force-placed insurance. Instead of resolving their internal mistake, they continued to request the same information again, creating unnecessary delays and financial stress. This is not an isolated issue. I have also dealt with repeated "fraud" flags that were never properly investigated or explained. Even worse, my debit cards were shut off multiple times with no notification whatsoever--no call, no text, no email. There were no suspicious transactions, no explanation--just suddenly being unable to access my own money. That is completely unacceptable. On top of that, interactions with staff across multiple branches have been consistently disappointing. There is a clear lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service. At times, the tone has been dismissive and unhelpful, especially when trying to resolve serious account issues. For an institution that claims to be "for people, not profit," my experience has been the exact opposite. The level of disorganization, lack of follow-through, and disregard for customers' time and finances is alarming. I have since closed all of my accounts and would strongly caution others--especially small business owners--before trusting Alliance Credit Union with their finances.

Mind you this is the commercial teller, the one messing up my business accts. I complained multiple times about this teller and her manager made excuses for her instead of addressing a customers complaint or retraining her. She did this a few more times with me complaining each time to the same waist of space manager that just wanted to go back in his office. I moved all my business accts to Lubbock National and will be closing and moving the rest of my personal accounts very soon. I will not put my finances in the hands off rude, incompetent people.
