I've been very pleased with the care I've gotten from Dr. Menninger, especially in managing my medication. He was extremely helpful and concerned when I developed tardive dyskinesia (TD) from Abilify, which had been prescribed by my former doctor. It turned out I had been taking it at a high dose for quite a long time, and Dr. Menninger thought I should discontinue it. When I did, the TD symptoms showed up (involuntary mouth and facial movements that were obvious and annoying). He's been very good about working with me and my neurologist in coordinating care as I've been treated for the TD symptoms. Dr. Menninger is cautious and conservative when it comes to medication, which I very much appreciate after my experience with Abilify. I see him regularly, although only every few months, to check in on how things are going with my medications. These are short appointments and somehow there's no co-payment for them with my medical plan, so I certainly like that! During appointments Dr. Menninger takes his notes on his computer as he goes along. It seemed odd, at first, as I wasn't used to that, but now I don't notice it, and being "connected" Dr. Menninger can rapidly find and print out studies and articles on various issues for you while you're sitting in his office, which is very handy. All in all, definitely recommended!

My kiddo needed services from Resolve after being referred by her former therapist. This review is…read morenot a reflection of the other metro locations and solely based on this location alone. We used Resolve from January 2023- up until around late last summer. Location: 5/10 The location is ideal, but can be far for folks that live further south. Sadly, it was inconvenient for us. Telehealth is available, but keep this in mind for evening appointments when are battling rush hour and peak travel times. Availability: 2/10 The LSCW we were paired had limited availability. She booked clients back to back, with little breaks in between. This made it difficult to schedule anything with her. Her latest appointment was 8pm; which worked for us briefly, but it quickly led to her burnout and emotional unavailability to my child. It was also pretty difficult to get ahold of her. Initially, I had to reach out to the front desk/admin to relay a message or schedule an appointment. I finally requested her direct email to reach out, which slightly improved communication. Vibe Check: 2/10 The office itself is nice, but the vibe was way off to me. The decor reminds me of a dentist office in the late 70's, early 80s and smelled like the plastic bib they place over you before starting a cleaning. It just did not feel very welcoming or inviting to me. I always felt awkward being in the waiting room. I know it is not easy having your child go to therapy, but nobody looked happy to be there. It was the ultimate doom and gloom. Nap time: 0/10 During my child's sessions, the therapist would wrap themselves in a blanket and doze off. This was no surprise to me, as she scheduled her last appointment at 8pm. Eventually, she started cutting back her hours to be done around 5, but at that point, burnout had set in and the damage to my kid had been done. This is beyond unprofessional. Improper Termination: 1/10 I really do not think termination was properly done with my kiddo in a way that provided closure. Luckily, we were able to find services with another therapist, but there was just lack of communication and closure at the end of our time with her. Again, this is due to burnout, which is common with therapists that book the way she did. Overall: 2/10 I cannot recommend this Resolve location to anyone I love and care about. I honestly believe there is not great management at this location because I observed burnout and the therapists did not seem happy to be there. I saw him…read morefor 3+ years, but recently stopped because his Overland Park office is just too far away for me (he was initially in midtown). He helped guide me through the most difficult time of my life thus far (divorce) & has continued to be an excellent resource in helping me flourish as a happy, healthy person. He is a great listener who frequently sends you home with worksheets to further process & work through what we're working on. He also has good recommendations for books. Sessions & "homework" with him were very productive - rather than just feeling like I went there to simply talk. His approach is positive, but realistic & challenging. His style is a balanced mix of traditional + new-agey, which was just the right combo for me. He has a great spirit & uplifting energy. He advertises his practice as " Counseling and Guidance for Men...and the Women who love them." So guys, he may be they guy for you & ladies, I can verify that he works well with women.
