He never got the permit and said the homeowner had to get one, so we did. He also wasn't licensed in our town, which we found out when the inspector came by and alerted us to it. Once he got license, he came in with a crew of about 3-4 nitwits who couldn't drive a nail into a board. They cut neighbor's buried internet cable, which was clearly marked by the city, missed the property line by about 6 feet, all the posts were uneven with hardly an concrete to support them. At first Dale didn't even want to use concrete to secure the posts. We had to talk him into using it. Then the circus crew misaligned the posts so the fence looked crooked. When we questioned the "straight" line, Dale blamed it on us and said that that's how we wanted it and that he was not going to fix it. We made him fix it nonetheless. Why the heck would we want the fence to bend? Damn clown. Second, to even the ground under the fence we had to order some dirt, Dale and his crew decided to take a little vacation without informing us they won't be working for 4 days, so when the landscaping company we bought the dirt from arrived, they dumped the dirt in our driveway not knowing there won't be anyone to move it for 4 days. We made Dale come out on the weekend and move the giant pile of dirt so that we could our cars out of the garage. Dale had to rent a front loader to move it. He was not pleased. He later tried to bill us for renting the machine, which we refused. The crew had to be supervised at all times and every single mess up had to be corrected as soon as discovered. Huge hustle dealing with this crew. Thank God it was only a fence and not anything more involved. They can't measure correctly, will add random charges to your bill, smoke like chimneys, throw garbage over your neighbor's fence. Just an absolute scam of a company. Couple bags of concrete also mysteriously disappeared. Check your bill very closely and question every item. Better still, DO NOT HIRE!!!

I had a pipe break above my finished ceiling in my basement. Dale came right over and fixed it…read more With the drywall ripped out from water damage, I decided to use CC to redo my bathroom above this area. Well, where do I start? The shower where the tub was had to be rebuilt 3times. (Do they not use a ruler or a level? Apparently not) The plumbing had to to be redone 4 Times. The shower floor was sloped away from the drain, had to have someone in to redo it for $500. ( I sponged up the puddle in the shower after I got out and it was 6 cups of water sitting there.)Also, get this, CC never hooked up the shower drain before the drywall went back up! Luckily I caught it, and Dale came and fixed his employees work by cutting a hole in the ceiling again and hooking it up. Fortunately it was before my first shower. (The drywall was taped sooo poorly, I had to re-sand, and even redo the taping in areas before painting it) A heat duck was left 2" from the floor hole, so heat (and ac) was going into basement instead of bath. Employee also put in a very powerful Broan Range hood. I noticed it made incredible noise and when I really needed it for smoke and turned it on high, it blew it back down into the kitchen. WELL, the cutouts for the 7" exhaust on the fan were never popped out before connecting to outside venting. Thus, air was pushed back down on range. I sent Dale a bill for $497 for shower, and no charge on fixing range hood, and he wants itemized bills and pictures to show the problems, and documentation that my new guy was licensed and insured. I'll bet you his employee isn't licensed....maybe Dale is insured. Where was my itemized bill for materials when he did this? I never got one. I'm letting it go and moving on, but NOT before telling other home owners around here to think twice before hiring them!!! One year later.......I just replaced my filter in my Refrigerator, and by running the water through it, I found that the water was HOT not cold. The worker hooked it up to the HOT WATER pipe instead of the cold. Does this guy do anything right???? I don't think so. Now I have to have another plumber come in and fix this mistake too! ! Unbelievable is what this company is and does. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!M

We had trouble with the lock on the front door right from the start. It was really stiff, and hard to use. We had 2 service calls on it within the first year, but they didn't help much. For over a year now I've been looking at the ragged weather stripping on the door so I had a company come in and replace the weather stripping. When they closed the door it tore up the new weather stripping so they replaced it again, and had to put a lower sill plate in so the door would close without tearing up the weather stripping. This week that difficult lock finally just gave up so I called a locksmith to replace the door lock and knobs. The door wouldn't close because it was hanging to low on the right side. The locksmith drilled out the door frame locking part to enable the door to close and the lock to work. He said the top hinge on the door is broke and the door is sagging almost an inch on the right side which is what caused the problem with the weather stripping and most likely caused the problems with the door lock. I called Pella about the problem on the same day as the locksmith was here, Wednesday, June 24. They finally returned my call on the next Friday, and the first day they can send someone out to fix my hinge on the door is July 30th because they're so busy fixing other peoples problems with their products. If I hadn't had the door lock repair myself I would have had to leave my house unlocked for approximately 6 weeks! NO THANKS! The hinge will be free because it's under warranty, but they will charge me $99 service fee to come out and put it on! They want me to pay for this before they do it as well! Is this what they call warranty and customer service! Personally I think they will find that the hinge is okay, and the door is installed incorrectly. The hinge looks okay to me, but the door sags badly to the right, and always has! It just keeps getting worse over time! I just want to replace the whole door with a different quality door and quality installation! I'd put this one out at the curb with a big sign on it that says PELLA DOOR, A PIECE OF CRAP!
