A friendly smile and an attempt to make customers feel welcomed both go a long way.

I'm sorry Goodwill, because in general, I love you. BUT…read moreSuper disorganized, which makes for a less than optimal shopping experience and increases the chance that items donated in good condition become cracked, broken or missing pieces. Several items I looked at were damaged. A glass pitcher with a 6 inch long crack, a clock with a shattered face, a cake place with a significant chip, just to name a few. And hey, Goodwill, 5.99 for used tshirts? Come on.

Interesting location. I've never seen a location like this one before. The concept of Goodwill is…read morestill alive and well, but this location was just different in an odd way. First thing I would like to address here is the fact that it just doesn't work. Sitting along the road shared by the mall. However, it is not connected to the mall in the least. You need to enter this lot only from the road, even though it is in a shared space, the lot does not allow for you to freely flow into the parking lot of the mall. You have to go back out on the road and make a quick right turn into the entrance to the mall parking lot. They could definitely connect it to the mall and it is a missed opportunity. I might also like to add that that it can be dangerous exiting and attempting to turn into the mall right away. The parking situation isn't much better here either. There is a strip of spacing outside the main doors, but it can be tight if other vehicles are attempting to enter like you are. There is a lot towards the back, but a good portion of it is taken up for the donation area. Inside, they used the space to the best of their ability, but even so, they were lacking with the setup they had. Instead of shelves lining the walls, they used shelving systems that are better used in closets. I mean they do have some shelving against the walls, but it is not used to the best of their abilities. Of course the items all depends on what is donated, which made the selections a bit lacking. Totally not their fault. But the interesting thing about this location was the fact that they had brand new items for purchase. Of course, at a deeply discounted rate. A lot of pet items, some cookware and a mix of other items. After a quick look around the store and finding nothing to my liking, I was back out the door.

Although I looked over the dresser, opened the drawers, etc., I did not move all the lamps and many assorted knick knacks. I then paid for the dresser and made arrangements to pick it up the following day. When I returned to pick it up, there was a VERY LARGE split in the wood, ALL the way across the entire top of the dresser and way too wide to repair by any method. This major damage had been covered by the runner, the lamps and the knick knacks. So . . . Usually, normally, sellers will be transparent about damage, flaws, chips, cracks etc., and then it's up to the buyer to move forward with the purchase or not. Because the damage was so extensive, I did not think the dresser could be transported without breaking completely in two. Because the damage was hidden/concealed, I felt deceived. I pointed this out to the staff, who launched into their "no refunds" spiel before I could even finish my sentence. I was rather abruptly offered to the "opportunity" to leave the dresser (and my $400) behind if I no longer wanted it. Still, I extend Kudos to Twice Is Nice for serving seniors in need!! Thank you to the volunteers who offer their time. Thank you to the folks who donate. If an item is damaged, you don't have to attach flashing lights or a neon sign, but it's not "nice" to cover it up, then pile it high with multiple heavy items making the damage almost impossible to detect until too late to make an informed purchase decision.

Wonderful finds in excellent condition! I always spend too much, but come home with great things!…read more If you make it to Charlottesville, I highly recommend this place look out because Twice is Nice has two stores in the same general vicinity.
