The horse I rode jumped from my leg brushing his belly, so I had to float my legs off his body the entire time. I'm not sure he was well enough to ride that day if his belly was that tender. The other horses did not get along and fought while on the trail. This led to one horse spooking/attacking another and caused my friend to fall. She had difficulty walking, but was asked to get back on the horse despite laying on the floor in pain. After she couldn't get on, we thought the guide would call for help. But we found out later that the guide simply called her coworker and told them she'd be late for her next ride. Are you kidding me? Someone gets hurt and your first thought is your next paycheck? Our friend had to continue on foot since the guide told us we could not get off to help her. I don't think she would've made it all the way. We were lucky to run into fire authorities that gave her a ride. The authorities clarified they were NOT contacted by the guide and they were there for a separate event. We took our friend to the ER ourselves to get a spinal scan which thankfully turned out with bruising only. Afterwards, we were not offered a refund. We get it, horses have bad days and are unpredictable. But there is no excuse for having a guide that is so severely untrained and unempathetic. In a real emergency, you do not want to be caught in the middle of a nowhere with no signal and a "guide" that doesn't even know how to call for help or care about you. She just sounded like she wanted it over with. Really horrified and disappointed by the negligence here.

A year later they still remembered the party including the horses they rode and pet--Gidget and Traveler. So when it came time to find a spot for my little one's birthday, this place was the first one to come to mind. I could not be happier about the experience we had. Jenna and her family were so accommodating and so very easy to work with. I felt like she was an old friend. They try their best to make sure everyone has a great experience--including the host. Once you've got everything set up the way you want (food, decorations, etc), you just let them run it and they make the activities flow smoothly. I was able to roam around and mingle with guests and watch my kids ride horses. Every single one of my guests--children and adults--had a wonderful time. Many people commented on how peaceful and relaxed they felt there. Having no cell service really helped because nobody was distracted by their phone. Everyone was enjoying the moment and time with their kids. I loved the open, outdoor, natural space with the beautiful and gentle horses. There were also goats, chickens and pigs. Gold panning, "pin" the tail on a real donkey, painting a real horse, an open barn area where other horses are available to visit and pet. Our family made the trek up from the Sherman Oaks area and our guests came from even further away. They all thought it was worth the drive. I highly recommend! All the children enjoyed riding the horses and playing the games, but my biggest surprise was how much they enjoyed panning for "gold". My party was 3 hours long and the children were occupied and enjoying themselves the entire time. We purchased tickets thru Groupon which included $15 to use towards activities on the farm and you can always purchase more tickets onsite. Our group did a lil of everything , petting zoo, archery, maze, pumpkin decorating, pony riding. They have a small food court with 2-3 food vendors. The lady with the tacos and pupusas is so nice and friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. The hot dogs are yummy with an amazing snap to them. There was a small family business selling fresh sourdough as well so we had to pick some up. Yes the bathrooms are port a potties but they are clean. Internet is choppy as expected up on a mountain and actually forced everyone to be present and enjoy time together rather than being on our phones posting.
