Rosewood Equestrian - My Daughter and sweet Dolly

Rosewood Equestrian

We've been at Rosewood Equestrian for five years and we can't imagine ever going anywhere else. My…read moredaughter has advanced in riding over the years, developed some of the best friendships and has learned some of the most important lessons, such as caring for something besides herself, and a good work ethic. Jelly is the best role model I could ask for, for my daughter. They work hard at Rosewood and there's never a shortage of fun. We have now advanced to boarding. Jelly helped us find the perfect horse and now we have a horse that is getting the best training along with my daughter.

My daughter has been going to local farms here and there for last 2 years but never really found a "home" or instructors who got through to her. Was looking for a place and by accident saw one of Rosewood's camps advertised on FB and at same time a friend also recommended Rosewood. It started with a camp few months ago and my 10 year old daughters's interest and confidence has only grown. She has progressively gotten better, found her confidence and is very active. Not only she is getting better at riding but it's teaching her responsibility for taking care of something else other than herself. We are there 4-5 times a week, have found amazing families and other kids who share same love of these beautiful, majestic horses. The trainers are awesome, very helpful. Highly recommend, maybe start with one of the camps "Jelly" the head trainer runs.

My wife and I planned a weekend trip to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary and flew into…read moreHollywood on Friday. With nothing scheduled for the afternoon, we came across Sunset Ranch Hollywood and booked their evening 2-hour trail ride. It turned out to be the perfect way to start our trip. We ended up being the only two on the ride, which made the experience even more special. Our guide, Ashley, was knowledgeable, personable, and easy to talk to. The conversation throughout the ride made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. The views were incredible--overlooking the Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood sign, the observatory, and even out toward Glendale. It's a perspective you just don't get any other way. We rode Apollo and Rain, and both horses were fantastic. They were calm, well-trained, and clearly knew the trail, which made the ride easy and enjoyable--even for riders who don't have a lot of experience. With just a few small corrections along the way, we felt more confident than we probably deserved. I'm sure a group ride would be fun, but having such a small, personal experience really made this memorable for us. It was a great way to kick off a special weekend, and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

They required us to get there 30 minutes before the tour. We got there at 9:30am, but the tour did not start until 10:30am. We waited for an hour before we can get on the back of the horse. This place is pretty private. We will have to make a call at the gate, so the staff can buzz us in. Parking structure is small, and it gets full fast. Staff was not too friendly unsure if they get burnt out with the tour. The horses looked tired and some of them look sick. My horse kept its head down throughout the ride. The one hour ride is basically sitting on the back of the horse, walking up the trail that we can see the Hollywood sign, and turned around at some point. Not worth the price you pay for. I will not be back.
