We were in Vermont for the July 4th holiday weekend and were glad to find a new and resonablly priced antique store in the Kingdom. Located in a former Ben Franklin, with the old oiled hardwood floors, this store has over 60 consignment booths that are all cool and interesting. From housewares to furniture, milk stools, maple sap taps, artwork, antique kitchen stoves, and collectibles decorate the modestly well kept store. My finds: A large square aluminum skillet and a cast iron fry pan both for my camper. Open year round, closed Wednesdays and Sundays. 10:00- 5:00 daily.

The owner is the nicest guy you'll ever meet and the prices are great. They have all sorts of stuff- furniture, tools, books, etc. basement is huge and filled with even more stuff. They have so much that they give some of it away or cut it into free kindling. Love it.

A simple, polite redirection that the upstairs wasn't open to customers would have sufficed. Instead, the tone was sharp, public, and unnecessarily rude. We apologized and explained we hadn't seen the sign, but he reacted as though we were being dishonest, then proceeded to complain about us to another employee while we were still within earshot--all very awkward and unprofessional. I would strongly encourage the owners to reconsider how customers are approached, as it reflects poorly on an otherwise generic but pleasant shop. Perhaps looking like you've just enjoyed Vermont's outdoors isn't quite the right aesthetic to be treated kindly here. Thankfully, the hike--and The Alchemist--more than made up for it. That said, I wouldn't return to this store to purchase an Advil.
