I ordered a seasonal iced peach latte - that had just a hint of peach sweetness to it and an otherwise caramel-y flavor - and got a spot right by the counter. The morning was temperate, so one of the garage doors at the front was open. As we reached noon, they closed the garage door to let the A/C do its thing. The main door otherwise opens into the sink room of the bathroom area, which is admittedly quirky-cute. My barista, Quinn, was super knowledgable and told us about the specials coming up this week to entice us back. She took some time to chat with me about why she loves working there, and both she and the other barista seemed to fit perfectly into the space. Thriving plants, lots of space to mingle or work - though, be prepared for someone to sit right next to you anyway - I wish I lived a little closer because this would absolutely be my new regular. As it is, I will be back often. Fun perk: convenient, big parking lot just north of the shop.

The backyard is like having a friends house that serves coffee. The swingset and activities are great for kids to play while you sit and enjoy the outdoors. The area is a bit run down but don't let that deter you from stopping in. Outside there is an old 1943 dc-3 on top of the building as a tribute coffee, aviation, and the company's roots. The plane is named after the founder's mother "Betty". It's also a nod to how the company "air roasts" their coffee. When you walk in the vibe feels industrial, aviation-themed, and cozy. I ordered a caramel latte and asked for it to be served in a ceramic. The coffee was excellent as always and this is my go to coffee shop in Kansas City. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping in for a cup of coffee. Also, there are certain days where you can tour the factory if you are interested in that as well.

The baristas were moving quickly to prepare the drink orders. The cashier was knowledgeable in food and beverages. The space is actually a good size, it only appears small when you enter. Some books and games are also available to occupy kids if you plan to linger. Which this is a lingering kinda spot. I ordered the honeybee latte with oat milk - it was so creamy and just enough sweetness. I think it's my new fave. Be patient- it took a little longer than expected to get my drinks. I also ordered the lemon poppyseed cake. Also very good. I think Ibis bakery supplies their baked goods. Another local fave! Roasterie also has teas, baked goods and some breakfast burritos. Not a lot of gf options. It's a tasty stop if you're in the area.
