I had transferred all my guns (6-7) to AZ and they arrived in shit shape due to their inconsiderate packing of them. While I provided cases for some, 2A sports never said one word to me how they would package the other items of pistols, rifles or how I should make sure they would be transfered safely without damage. Memberships. If you were thinking about doing a membership at this facility, Do not be lured in by the annual membership. I've done a year and a half and unexpectedly have had to move. I called and asked if they could prorate for the months that have passed and credit me for the balance, But they said that's not possible. Then I asked if I could switch names so the person that was staying back could enjoy the rest of the months without me, And they denied that as well. For such a beautiful sales area and such a wealth of guns to choose from, Second Amendment Sports does not have a lot of ancillary supplies. Their prices are higher than the rest of the market. How can you go from a strong review yesterday to " you suck" in one day? I made an additional optics purchase for my Staccato P, that I purchased there, yesterday for $700 plus. I can mount an optic but opted to pay a professional to mount it on an expensive firearm. I was told it is easy and should take a couple of days. Driving by today, I decided to stop in to check status. I was told that if the work order was built yesterday, it will take two weeks. I said, "two weeks to mount a optic"? I asked for my money back and the response demonstrated no concern, no customer care, no effort to address my concerns. The office manager is a joke. She just wanted to know who said it could be done in two days so she could yell at them. I refused and said you should ask or talk to your own people. I now see why there are so many negative comments on this place. I asked for the owners name and number but she resisted and deferred to "call the store". They (she... the office manger) do not appreciate the$4k I have spent there in the last month. They obviously do not need it and I will never go there again because "they suck". Great selection of new and used firearms though slightly pricey. The range is very small but more comfortable than others I've been to in the area. The major downfall being higher than usual fees, they even charged me for the background check; never seen that done anywhere else. The used gun I bought was in great condition however it was much much dirtier than I originally thought, this is a problem I've seen with many shops but you'd figure if somebody was going to sell a gun at a shop the shop would make sure it was clean before accepting from them. I had a Stacatto XC delivered here since they are a dealer. After completing ATF Form 4473, I was not given possession even though I ordered the gun in March. The law CLEARLY states the waiting period starts with transaction (see attached photo). I ordered and paid for the Stacatto in March. All attempts to explain the law were shut down. They start THEIR timer with the 4473 completion, which means come back in three days. Another trip, more gas, more time....all unnecessary by law. Upon writing a email of concern to Stacatto (and copying Second Amendment Sports), after all now I have to make a second unnecessary trip next week, I received a phone from the owner. While I give him credit for reading the email and calling me the same day, the answer was mediocre. They choose to have a more conservative policy than the law. He acknowledged my citation of the law was correct (I knew that), but their process is more conservative. While this is his right, it is not customer friendly. In their desire to have more paperwork, they create more trips and time for me that is beyond the requirement of law - and then they charge a higher transfer fee too. I paid $60, where my regular FFLs are $30-$39. This would have been a 1 star review, but I am going to two because of the prompt call. It provided no resolution but the courtesy was appreciated. I have had several professionals in the industry tell me frustrating stories of working with Second Amenedment, and now I see why for myself. Those that actually know the law and have experiences with other FFLs find this experience cumbersome, frustrating and unnecessary, which it is. The policy is absolutely their right as a business. It follows the law and THEN some. I just don't need to put myself through it. It is my right to take my business to other FFLs who fully follow the law, respect my time and charge less as well. read more

My rating is the culmination of six transactions (gun purchases and or gun sales) with 2nd Amendment Sports. I will not conduct any further business there. The sales staff is a condescending bunch. It seems like it's a chore for them to interact with customers. Every question seems to be one that shouldn't have been asked. Most of the desk staff is equally catatonic. Conversation outside of specific directions regarding forms or taking payment is, for the most part, nonexistent. Wait times for sales help or for being processed for a purchase at the counter are inordinately long and uncomfortable. The lack of basic conversation skills and sales acumen among staff members seems to be a rule rather than an exception. I hope management and ownership don't wonder why a gun buyer might choose internet gun purchases over their operation. A keyboard and webpage are a more rewarding experience than interacting with most of the humans on the staff at 2nd Amendment Sports. read more

Terrible customer service. Workers behind the desk are very rude and have an attitude all the time no matter the time of day. (Literally only one guy there that works at rentals is amazing, ex military). Everyone else either has little to no knowledge on anything there or they have an entitlement issue. Everything they sell is overpriced for literally no reason. They're literally called second amendment but are the furthest thing from it. - Side story just to show how incompetent they are professionally- ( went to the shooting range one time and gave them my foid card. When I left they didn't remind me that they had it. A day later I went back to go pick it up and they said they didn't have it. So like any logical human I retraced my steps. Went to every gas station, store etc... even then I couldn't find it so I called second amendment multiple times and spoke to multiple different people asking if my foid card was still there, they all said no. So days later when I officially thought it was gone I called and report it lost or stolen. Minutes after doing so second amendment calls me back asking me why I haven't picked up my foid card. As you can imagine my rage and confusion due to the fact that for days they said they didn't have it...I now had to wait months for a renewed card because of their laziness and incompetence. As much as it pains me to say this....out of all the ranges I've been to throughout the entire USA, they're the worst. Also their range officers are lazy. read more

I bought a canik rival s. Which is a competition pistol. I took it out of the box and tried my magazines from my other plastic rival. Well one of the mags doesn't feed without sticking. So I took off backstrap and saw the frame is bent. So I go back to second amendment and have one of there guys look at it. Well the guy just laughed about it and said it doesn't effect the function of the canik. Well it totally affects the function, IT'S A COMPETITION PISTOL SPEED AND SMOOTH FUNCTION IS WHAT IT IS DESIGNED FOR. I'm shocked to see all the negative reviews. I've purchase several guns, traded in several guns and used their range on a regular basis. Yes their prices are a bit higher than some but I also believe you get what you pay for. My first experience with them was when I brought in a Sig AR, purchased at another shop, with a a factory installed red dot that had failed. The sales person, George, said let me ask the owner a question. The owner came out grabed a red dot out of the case and had it installed for me at no cost . I only buy my weapons' at 2nd Amendment and they always stand behind their products. The staff knows their shit. Yes there are bad lines on the weekend but who in their right mind goes to any gun range on a Saturday? All the ranges are like that. Every first time gun owner is there to learn don't go on Saturday. Some people just don't have reasonable expectations. read more

I've been going here for a couple of years. I've used the range/rentals. I've purchased handguns from them and I've done transfers through them. The staff is hit or miss, some are nice and helpful, others think you are beneath them. That happens almost anywhere. Then on 4/21/2021 I contacted them about a gunsmithing task. They said they could perform the task so I brought in the parts: Upper, BCG, Charging Handle, Barrel, Handguard, Gas Block/Tube, and a Cry Havoc QRB kit. They contacted me on 4/25/2021 that it was complete. On 4/26/2021 I arrived shortly after they opened to pick up the completed assembly. Upon testing, the QRB was not properly installed to hold the barrel and thus the barrel was not coming out of the receiver. They kept it and said they would fix it. They contacted me later that day that it was finished. I picked up the item, made sure it would disconnect and took it home. I attached the build to the lower, installed the buffer system, mounted red dot on upper and flashlight on handguard. Proceeded to reconnect the QRB and it wouldn't connect. After examining the parts I found that the barrel was rotating in the QRB. The three set screws that are supposed to hold the barrel weren't fully tightened down. Checked the screws and found they did not put any loctite on them (per written manufacturer instructions and manufacturer video) to help secure them. On 4/27/2021 I took it back to show them the issue and get back the money they charged. They informed me the only thing they can do is try to install it again or schedule a time for me to come in and work with the gunsmith to do the install. They had two chances to do the assembly. Now they want ME to do it at their convenience using their tools under their supervision. (Insert derogatory comment here). I've already purchased the tools online or from local competitors and will be doing the install myself at home following the instructions. I will not be going back there again. read more

Prior to getting my FOID card, I had never been in a gun store or shooting range. Additionally, I had never even shot a firearm. Once I began to realize how the Second Amendment of our US Constitution was at risk of being repealed I knew I had to take action and get my FOID and then CCL...especially as an Illinois resident. As soon as I got my FOID, Second Amendment Sports was the first place I visited to purchase a firearm. The staff was so helpful to this novice. They were thorough with information and patient with my questions. I purchased a private instruction lesson so I could learn how to shoot as well as try out a number of firearms before making a purchase. I have taken the CCL course and am interested in a number of other classes they offer. The instructors are amazing! The range is well ventilated, well lit, clean and well maintained. I love this place and shoot multiple times a week as I practice. If you haven't yet, you need to go in regardless if you're a firearm owner or not. Be welcomed by this amazing team. Additionally, contact your government officials and let them know that you oppose any gun control legislation that is taking away your second amendment right! read more

So maybe then I try to speak to Bert regarding a time sensitive matter, which in part was caused by the ineptitude of their sales associate. Why may you ask? They don't know his schedule, and can't bother to give him a quick phone call to even try to assist a very loyal customer. So the only thing I will continue to go there for is the range. The owner is rude, the range officer has no issue being extremely confrontational, all employees are armed the whole time but you are not allowed to open carry. They created rules for the range that allow them to charge $25 for every bullet that hits the cardboard target holder so beginners beware. So I go in to use their range on Saturday morning, having a great time shooting my rifle, when grey haired old man winter (RO) taps me on the shoulder and asks for my mag. He takes it out of the room and then comes back with a magnet and checks it in front of me. He proceeds to tell me that steel core and steel case are not allowed. When he sees that my ammo is neither, disappointed, he then tells me that i am not allowed to shoot a rifle if the target is closer than 40 feet. I never heard of such rule at this or any other range. I am trying to sight in a scope. Wouldn't my shot placement be more accurate if the target is closer and not further away? I feel that I was unfairly discriminated against. I am not sure if it was because I was young and good looking, or because i brought in more ammo than the store had in stock, or because i was going through it like it was 2018, or maybe because i was shooting a caliber that was not a World War One era .45acp. I will still come and use the range in the future, but I hope that he stays behind the glass and only watches me from a distance. Although I feel sad that he is probably bored and lonely, there is no reason to come and bother customers when they are safely plinking away. read more

I bought a sigsauer P365. As a first time Firearm buyer, they did not give me the complete set and accessories of the firearm I bought from them. They knew I am a newbie when I got home and I read the manual there are missing accessories like the safety cable gun lock, there were 2 magazines but the other one was replaced by a just a regular one without the tab accessory for it to fit nicely in the gun. They showed me a complete accessory but when I got home and checked these Items are missing... hopefully something could be done when they do this to first time firearm buyer. Hopefully they educate the newbies instead of not giving the complete item. read more

The range was clean & very well lit.as we were leaving I wanted to see they're pistols , I'm buying one today as a matter of fact. My buddy asked to see the glock 43x , no response , I understand there's a lot of window shoppers but if your interested in something that's a potential sale. I've been serving in the military the past 18 years. I've never owned a handgun, but have shot plenty. I wanted to find a store to educate me on the process of obtaining a firearm in this state. I have a military ID and out of state driver's license. I talked to two different employees and they both seemed uneducated on the process, making it seem like it would be a hassle for me, since I don't have an Illinois driver's license. After I got home, I conducted some simple causative research on the ISP website. I simply needed to submit a few documents online, including a notarized out of state affidavit. Once I receive my FOID card, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
