From the moment we arrived to begin set up for rehearsal they were so gracious and accommodating. We almost got rained out by a tropical storm and they helped us find every option on the planet to accommodate our brides dream wedding. They were never intrusive and bent over backwards to help us realize our vision. The venue is stunning! From the amazing bridal suite to the grooms area and overnight guest rooms upstairs, the sprawling oaks, horses in the background, barn stalls for our catering and bar, massive covered reception area, fully landscaped cocktail hour and dance area, I could go on and on. This area is so blessed to have this hidden treasure located in the tri county area with such amazing hosts. We cannot thank you or rave about this place enough!! I traveled all the way from Atlanta and was blown away by the beauty and grace of this venue. The owner's kindness and generosity to helping our families dream wedding come to fruition was top notch to say the least!

The location is easily located via gps and is mainly long stretches on the same two roads before arriving. The driveway is lovely and secluded with ponds to look at on the short drive up to the venue location. The barn, main house and bridal suite are set back perfectly. They are grand but still inviting. You can tell that time went into decorating this venue because no detail was spared. From family bibles and photos of a wedding, to wedding dresses of the brides in the family- you feel like family and warmly welcomed. The owners were so warm, kind and accommodating. There is a large tree on the property that was perfect for the ceremony portion of the wedding. The grounds have plenty of room for tents to be set up for a lovely reception as well. This is a well thought out venue for a perfect outdoor wedding. My ONLY warning is - you must love animals. Luckily, we all adore them and we're so happy to see cats, large dogs(kept inside the main house and were quiet the whole time) and horses. They even allowed our bride to take some photos near one of their gentle horses. You will NOT be disappointed with this location or family. They were a blessing and made the whole event so spectacular for my best friend!

Women's clubs helped to launch the women's rights movement. The Punta Gorda Woman's Club was formed in 1925 when three clubs consolidated, The Ladies Fortnightly Club, The Women's Club Civic Association, and The Married Ladies Club. They came together to be able to be able to build a one story Spanish Mission style building in 1926 on land in downtown Punta Gorda donated by Judge William Fenmore Cooper from Illinois. Throughout the years the building housed stage productions, dances, meetings and dinners. The building housed the first library for 30 years and during WWII it was used as a USO. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. In 2000 the Woman's Club transferred the deed to the building to Punta Gorda Historical Society. A few small things to consider- do not expect world class paddle boards, there is one SUP paddle that functions and two old paddle boards- kayaks seemed ok. The walk to the beach does require crossing a busy road, but once there it IS a nice beach, but you must bring all your own gear, including beach towels. There are not any beach rental chairs, etc. nearby. The wifi did not seem to work for us, the fan in the spare bedroom had a short apparently so my first night trying to sleep, it got up to 78 degrees in the room as we could not adjust the temp on the thermostat, the couch is not comfortable, the streaming buffered, so it took a couple hours to get that to work, there is a neighboring house with a large dog barking and although they warn you, I find it strange for the nightly price ($336/night!) to offer a small soap and shampoo. There is a washer, no dryer. The blankets were thin, beds were decent and the place was clean. There are no screens on any of the windows so you can't really get fresh air and there was a wasp nest above our bathroom window so definitely didn't want to leave a window ajar while showering. There is a "no refund" policy, so you are stuck there as we had wanted to check out after our first of two nights. There are not any walkable restaurants nearby. We were offered a couple of free nights to make up for all the mishaps we had. All in all, there were nice chairs and solitude by their water's edge. I could see a family enjoying the grounds and playing the outdoor games they had, but for us it was a letdown for the price. I think some people would be perfectly happy here but we had a lot of stress upon check-in and so many things not working properly.
