The staff is kind, patient, and very knowledgeable--they explained in detail the pros/cons of varying breast pumps, bottles, pacifiers etc...and in a way that was easy to understand. I love that they do breast pump accessory fittings to ensure you are ordering the correct sizes. Not having the correct size can have a huge impact on your breastfeeding experience. They're well organized and even handle insurance and billing directly. I left confident in my choice of breast pump and find peace of mind knowing I can stop by anytime if I need any help down the road. Nurturing Expressions is a gem for new and expecting parents--supportive, professional, and genuinely invested in helping families thrive. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you Nicole and team!

I rented a pump through nurturing expressions and while I loved the pump, I did not love nurturing…read moreexpressions and would never rent through them again. My insurance through my employer covers the Medela Symphony pump at 100%. I confirmed with my employer & insurance ahead of time and I also contacted nurturing expressions. They said some employers (insurances) don't, so there may be an upgrade fee I have to pay, but they've worked with mine before and it would be covered. I set up a pick up for the pump for my due date, gave them all information they needed and went about the business of having a baby. I picked up the pump without much issue - they even put a note on the rental agreement that the $90 + tax would be billed to insurance. All was well for a few months until someone at my insurance company made a mistake and did not cover the upgrade fee for a couple of months. At this point I contacted nurturing expressions and they were adamant that the upgrade fee is never covered by insurance and I have to pay. They were also baffled about the note about billing $90 + tax to insurance - someone at their store must have made a mistake since they bill more! But I have to pay the upgrade fee, they were adamant about that, so I immediately returned the pump to them and rented from a different place while I figure out what happened. I researched and called and talked to insurance and nurturing expressions multiple times and found that: - nurturing expressions bills $90 + tax to insurance AS WELL AS an upgrade fee of $59.09 which happens to be the difference between $90 + tax and what insurance covers ($40) for in-network providers. So they bill the negotiated discount with insurance as an upgrade fee - my insurance does cover the upgrade fee, but they made a mistake for those two months and they will send a check for the difference. They did so in June of 2024, so about 6 months after I returned the pump to nurturing expressions. You'd think all would end here, but in December of 2024 I started getting phone calls from a *collection* agency for those two months despite the fact that insurance sent a check to nurturing expressions.

We were matched with Jen based on our request for a size friendly doula with a sense of humor, and…read moreboy did she deliver! We received prepartum, postpartum, and birth/delivery support from Jen. She met with us before my due date and educated us on what to expect from her, as well as different techniques she uses to provide support and pain management during labor. After being admitted to the hospital I called Jen and asked that she come and be with us for the labor. She came with her "bag of tricks" and knowledge of how to support both my husband and I during the ten hours of labor. She lead us through silly walks down the hall, held my hand while I threw up in the hallway, and urged me to moan it out during contractions. She spoke with my excited (and anxious) mother-in-law and ensured that my husband got breaks and ate. Towards the end of labor the baby's heart rate monitor stopped picking up her heartbeat, which resulted in lots of stress and anxiety from hospital staff, and an increase in the number of people in the room. Jen kept my husband and I calm and focused on the task at hand -- birthing our beautiful daughter. Instead of getting caught up in the frantic energy of the room I was able to ignore much of what was happening around me because of Jen's calming words and affirmations. I know we could have birthed our daughter without Jen there, but it would have been a much different experience, one that would have been more stressful, bewildering, as well as emotionally and physically draining. Postpartum care has been instrumental in gaining confidence as a new parent. She visited days after our daughter's birth, encouraging us as she checked on breastfeeding and our emotional well-being. She has been super at responding to my random questions via text (Is this amount of spit-up normal? What is this discharge coming out of her? Am I diapering her correctly?) No question has been too small or weird for her to answer. Jen has been a wonderful support as we navigate the transition from a family of two to a family of three.

Having Jen there during the birth was invaluable. Jen was there for us postpartum too and helped so much with lactation. I can't say enough good things about her. Love you Jen! Thank you for being awesome. I am proud to say you were our doula.

She was direct yet soft, quick to reply over email on any issues I was having in between appointments, and extremely knowledgeable. She keeps up to date on studies which I greatly appreciate as medical professional myself. Simply put, Renee is an expert in this field. I recommend her to anyone wanting to nurse pain-free. She also had great tips for bottle feeding. My baby is 2 months now and exclusively breastmilk, both with nursing and bottle. I owe it all to Renee.

Still, during the first 15-20 minutes of my appointment she kept grilling me about my insurance information, wasting my time. After that she wasted some more time dissing the newborn care classes I attended at Swedish. I had already decided against getting long term care by now, this kind of negative attitude is not conducive for sure and I totally agree with the other reviews about the dismissive and negative personality traits. The funny thing is after a few weeks she reached out complaining that she was not able to make an insurance claim. However, I checked both my primary and secondary insurance claims, and the claim related to her was processed by both the primary and secondary insurance.

I was so pleased with the care I received. When it came time for delivery she was super responsive and knew exactly when to come and be with my husband and I at my home. We ended up delivering at the hospital because of meconium and Andrea handled the transfer so quickly and smoothly! My husband and I were both very scared and she was very reassuring and calming. She and her team made a chaotic transfer seem like a walk in the park. Once we got to the hospital, she didn't leave my side until hours after my birth. My husband and I were so thankful for her support and guidance. Thanks to her, Felicia, and Sadie, I was able to labor at home basically right up until I delivered my son. I'm so thankful for her and will definitely use her services for future pregnancies! I seriously cannot recommend her highly enough.

Would have appreciated some more guidance since again, I was a new mom that was very unsure of how and what to look for in the latch. Would not recommend her services.
