The original dentist who did the implant 8 years ago (also did a great job) is in Illinois, my home is in Florida, and my next stop for work was Seattle. In a panic, I got a reference from someone I new in Puyallup, and I called the office -- at 6:15pm Pacific Time -- expecting to get voicemail. Instead, someone cheery and extremely helpful answered, got my info, looked at her calendar, and set me up for an appointment less than 48 hours later. I flew in to Seattle the afternoon of my appointment, drove to the office, filled out the paperwork, and an hour later, walked out with my tooth completely repaired. I also got great advice from Dr. Bashar about my implant, and life is good! I can't recommend these folks highly enough. Rainier Dental is the best!

I went to this dental office after previously seeing another dentist, because my daughter's…read moreinsurance was not accepted at the previous clinic. During my checkup, I was told I needed six or more crowns along with several fillings, which immediately raised concerns, because the other clinic never told me of such. After having one filling done, I began experiencing pain in a tooth that had never bothered me before the appointment. When I later discussed this with my family, they expressed concern that the treatment may have caused the issue rather than helped it. Over a month later, the office contacted me to ask whether I wanted to move forward with the crowns. (The gentlemen calling, said the doctor wanted to know if I want to start treatment with one crown) By that time, I had already decided not to return. My husband and daughter were also seen the same week and both felt uncomfortable with their visits. Based on our experiences, we do not trust the treatment recommendations and have chosen to seek care elsewhere. I would encourage others to ask questions and consider second opinions before proceeding with extensive dental work here

My normal dentist does not provide dentures so on December 30, 2024, I contacted (by email) Light…read moreDental Studios to inquire about dentures and to confirm they accepted my dental coverage. On January 09th, 2025, I received a return email stating that yes, they are a preferred provider for both companies. After receiving this email, I called and scheduled an appt. On April 01st I went in for a checkup and a consultation regarding dentures. While we discussed the denture procedure and cost, I asked to make sure they would contact the insurance companies for pre-approval. I stated I didn't want any surprise bills. I was told yes, they would confirm coverage with the insurance carriers. After they said they had contacted the companies I was given an estimate that showed my share of the total cost would be $609. I asked again if they had confirmed coverage with the insurance companies. I was told yes, coverage had been confirmed. I scheduled an appt to have the dentures made. When I went in for the visit, I paid my $609 and once again asked if the insurance companies had verified coverage and this would be all I owed. Once again, I was told coverage had been confirmed. On July 22, 2025 I received a bill (text) from the dental office in the amount of $1,534. I was shocked and worried, so I sent a letter the same day to the office stating questioning the bill. On August 05th, 2025 at 09:33am I received a voice mail that had been left by Terri at Light Dental Studios stating I had nothing to worry about, Dr. Mann was fully satisfied with the amount I had paid. I have continued to receive bills showing I was past due and still owed the $1,534. so I sent a complaint to the Washington state Attorney General's office. I received a letter back from the AG stating: The complaint you submitted to our office regarding Light Dental Studios - Covington was reviewed and determined to be appropriate for the informal complaint resolution (ICR) services offered by our Consumer Resource Center. The response by Light Dental Studios to the AG was full of untruths. Angie Dunn from Light Dental Studios stated that the insurance company (Guardian) denied the claim due to a clause "which excludes replacement of teeth that were missing prior to the policy's effective date". She goes on to say that since Mr. Hutson was a new patient to our office, we had no way of knowing that these teeth were missing before his plan took effect. LIE #1: I want to point out that this is a downright lie. When I was in for my consultation the dentist wanted to know how long I had been wearing my plastic denture. I told him I had been wearing it for seven years. I also related to both him and the nurse that I had my front teeth knocked out when I was in high school just being a young and dumb kid. LIE #2: Ms. Mann further states that "Mr. Hutson did not request that prior authorization be obtained". I not only asked the Dentist, I asked the dental assistant, and also the front desk representative to make sure they had prior approval. In each conversation I was told yes. Due to being threatened about being ninety days past due and worried about a negative remark on my credit history I went ahead and paid the $1,534. I am asking that his amount be refunded asap.
