This was one of the first swimming centres I ever went to. It is very simply one large pool built inside, with toilet and shower area's for both males and females (with heaps of room inside and you could easily get in and out in a wheelchair) and a separate office type area with some swimming apparel and accessories for sale also.
They mainly use the pool for learn to swim lessons, swim for fit and aerobics programmes and squad swimming. However they also offer lap swimming to the public between 7am and 9am and between 11:30am and 2:30pm Monday to Friday. I used to only work a 4 day week so on my day off I would go to a nearby gym then come here for swimming training then stop and get stuff to make a nice salad wrap for lunch when I got home. It was my fitness day.
It was always easy swimming here. Simple to park, pay your money and do your thing. Usually I didn't even have to share a lane but if I did have to the others I shared with were always courteous and easy to share with. In the earlier morning sessions it may be a little busier. I found in the middle of the day most of the other people were older people walking or doing exercises in the water for back or kneww issues or for recovery from such issues. If I am going ot put on bathers and swim I like to do it somewhere that I do not feel self conscious and this place has definitely been good to me over the years.
If it is a warm day it definitely get really hot and stuffy and steamy inside this pool though as it is a heated indoor pool. Not really a kids play pool at all but great for fitness. read more
