Last time I went in with questions on parasites and anemia and came out with tinctures. Their tea blends are some of my favorites. The antiviral is amazing!!! It's like going back in time! It's located right off of route 10 with easy front parking.

After the tour was over my husband I came back to buy some to take home. The lady who helped us was super nice and recommended and let us taste several oils and vinegars. A huge variety! There's a ton of nifty salts and rubs, pastas, even olive oil bath goods and delicious smelling soaps I had to pick up also! They had the cutest seasonal display for grilling accompaniments in summer. I can safely assume that table in the back changes themes with the time of year so look forward to somethings back there to get you in the mood of the season! My mom loved her seasonal summer fruit oils set I picked up here which can be used for shrimp and fish marinades, salad dressings or even in pound cakes instead of regular canola oil! How genius?! I generally source from a local shop in Columbus Ohio but sometimes they don't have what I'm looking for. Sure I could hit up multiple smaller international markets to find what I want but I didn't want to drive all over. I hunted for online suggestions from a Facebook foodie group I'm in and of course they all extolled the greatness of Penzys. I'm not impressed with the selection, in store customer service, or lack of transparency in product sourcing. I could hit up my local Kroger or Giant Eagle if you're wanted spices of unknown origin. Spices Inc hits all those markers. The spice description even goes into the history of the spice/herb, where it's sourced, and helpful tips on how to use it. Which is great because even as a pretty well versed home cook I stumbled on some new to me spices and dried peppers. At Spices Inc I can get things like arrowroot powder in bulk the same time I can get pasilla de Oaxaca, and dried Curry leaves. I am already thinking about my next Spices Inc order. Even if I already have two lazy Susan's, a 16 bottle spice rack, and a plastic shoe box filled with even more spices. There's always room for more spices in the kitchen of a foodie!
