First, it took over 3 months to even get an appointment. After several of my calls, they finally…read moreprocessed getting the medical records and set up something. I confirmed with insurance and the office before coming that we were in network. AFTER the appointment, I was told they would not submit to insurance and hit me with nearly a $1K bill they had said insurance was supposed to cover. I took my daughter in for her 9 month well visit and vaccines. She had had complications soon after birth and the doctor did not do any evaluation herself at the appointment. My daughter was also cutting SIX teeth and she never checked her mouth. No feedback was given to me, written or oral, about her growth and development, but they did have several intrusive questions about our home and family life, and "offering" government programs. (my husband is a nurse, we earn a good income, and have nothing even close to a criminal history) I felt quite uncomfortable with the whole visit, so we switched to a different pediatrician in the area. Briarpatch charged me a $25 fee PER CHILD for me to PICK UP MY OWN CHILD'S medical records and personally bring it to the other office. Otherwise, they said it would take weeks for the request to be processed.

They were great when we had my husbands health insurance "real insurance" , but when he passed away…read moreand we got on MassHealth, it's been horrible experience since. No care at all for children who are suffering from migraines. Takes weeks to get any where and then a dead halt and bring brushed off to somewhere else because they simply don't care when your on masshealth, Oh and lets not forget the rudeness of the NP that doesn't even acknowledge the parent in the room, talks to the child instead and asks a question like, are you sexual to a 13 year old girl?! yea completely inappropriate. Talk to the parent first would be the first suggestion. My child had the deer in the headlights look! To the admins when making an appointment, don't ask what's your availably instead ask " this is what we have open" and then state the dates and time. So bottom line DONT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE MASSHEALTH!!!!!

A lot of my family has gone here for many different things. And it's always been Amazing! They do…read moresuch a good job! The doctors are amazing, they train some nurses here, and it's always friendly! And if your child is scared of shots, they give shots very quickly! Like SNAP! The staff is very friendly and always happy to help. The doctor we go to for everyone is Doctor Baldasaro; he is amazing! If you have a sick kid or they need a vaccine or whatever, bring them here! This is a really good place and gives great care! They also recently repainted the place, and it looks so good! I totally recommend it!

The other people that have commented about Sandy calling DCF (CPS) are correct. I believe she…read moremeans well, but her bedside manner is terrible and she is abrasive to the point that all of my children hate/fear her. My children suffered a lot of emotional trauma due to family tragedy and my daughter was 2 weeks shy of 18 when Sandy told me the same. Having been through that before, I politely told her to fuck off - DCF takes weeks/months to respond - and now we need a new pediatrician. Technically the kids are still patients there, but taking them to appointments now is like taking the fucking cat to the vet. In a post Dr. Marz era, pass on Bass River. I don't bear Sandy any ill will - I believe she is doing what she feels is in the best interest of the child - but the stupid fucking retired hippies voting democrat think they're saving the world too.
