I have been here a few times over the last few months and each time it makes me so happy to be at. Something about having physical media, finding gorgeous records and seeing and hearing the quality of records and the music itself with the record players. This place is always stocking up for new options and importing new ones as well. The staff member Asa, I believe in said that right, was super passionate about his job and we talked about in great detail about music and places you can get it all too. This place is a must if you are in town. I will be visiting again soon!! read more

The unexpected things that cross our path are always the most special. Live music was sublime and not even planned on our part! We wondered why the music was so easy to hear from the parking lot, and as we came through the door the atmosphere was cathartic. This is a clean, easy to walk through record store with friendly staff. There are two listening stations complete with headphones and great quality turntables. There are sections for used vinyls including most genres in 12's and 45's, CDs, a photo booth, and comfortable seating to listen to live sessions or as you wait for someone to complete their record adventure journey. It isn't a large store but prices were reasonable. The majority is not alphabetically ordered so part of the experience is finding what you came to find. Enjoy! read more

This place is a vibe for music lover! Beautiful store that is very clean and inviting. We browsed through the selections and found a few goodies. They also had some apparel, Photo Booth and cassettes/ cds. And of course they are spinning to help make it a mood. This is goodie for the Birmingham area! read more

Visiting seasick records was a really cool experience. The inventory offers an array of music styles, in vinyls/cds/cassettes. I came in recently just to look around. I was happy to see that they have a 3.99 clearance section. I ran across some classic/vintage vinyls and I even made a purchase. The store is organize nicely and bright inside. They also have a nice leather sofa to lounge on. Staff were friendly enough but helpful. This was my first visit to Seasick Records. I plan to return in the future. read more

It was Record Store Day and Seasick is the only record store in Birmingham participating so me and by bestie got up super early to participate and see what records we could add to the collection. Record Store Day is interesting in the fact that all the albums are either never released or are special editions of an album. If you're an avid record collector you should definitely participate in this event at least once. Prices ranged from $15-up. Seasick and their staff did a great job and was very organized on everything planned. Great record shop! read more

Stopped by on the way home from lunch and chores. There is the possibility that there may not be any bargains but I like to stop and browse. Today was a good stop. Picked up 5 Jazz used albums $3 each. There are albums, 45s, CDs and more. Used and new. The cashiers are courteous and take cash and cards . All used are not $3 but price on most is not bad. There is a $3 section tho. read more

Always enjoy my visits to our local independent record store. The entire staff is eager to assist with any questions and create a very welcoming atmosphere. Each visit requires a perusal of the used cd and record bins. Hard to leave empty handed. Especially with those bargain prices. Each weekend provides another used drop to refill the bins. Follow their newsletter and socials. That will help you to keep up to date with all the live performances, album signings and listening parties. read more

Great selection of vinyls! I found quite a few rare pieces here and enjoyed the vibes. It's definitely a must check out for music enthusiasts. Prices are reasonable and they've got a lot of staff picks that aren't too shabby! They've even got store swag and a membership you can sign up for if you live locally. Will definitely come back when I'm back in Birmingham. read more

Such a great store. I've found many albums I love and adore here! They keep many genres in stock, something for everyone. Prices are reasonable. And they will hold things for you if you need/you can purchase online and pick up at your convenience. They host free concerts sometimes, and I've seen a favorite band of mine live (Susto) and got autographs!! Also have had book signings (Michelle Zauner), listening parties, and of course RSD. They have good quality and cute merchandise. Shirts, crew necks, stickers, etc. The employees are friendly, the owner is very nice too! The new building is great and at a good location, I love it for them. They have a big, nice lot across the street for the crowded events they host, which is a nice addition! read more

It is so nice inside and out! Its big, spacious, and VERY organized! You can buy used cd's AND cassette tapes! That, I love! You are greeted as soon as you walk in and they are super friendly. I found an Aaliyah cd for $3, full album... That is a GREAT price! I also decided to pop in on another day, and I wanted to buy my wife a "just because" gift. She LOVES Beyonce... I've accepted it, smh lol. So I purchased her Renaissance limited edition album for her. I bought her a record player a few years ago, and she likes to collect records. GREAT price... I will definitely be back ASAP! I recommend Seasick to anyone who loves music, who loves vintage, who loves great service. read more

Always have what I am looking for in vinyl, the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable,it's a fun place and the new(ish) location has plenty of whatever your budget and musical tastes are, easy to spend too much as you'll find what you want and a few more, but that's a good thing. read more

I have bought vinyl at seasick before. In the past, they had codes for MP3s inside the record for those of us who have MP3s. My wife got me the Beatles anthology 4 on vinyl and when I opened it to get the MP3 codes I learned that they weren't there. I called the store and was told that there are no MP3s for this release and now that I've opened it they won't accept an exchange for the album on CD. Instead they offered to screw me again by accepting a perfectly new and unused record as "used" so I could then spend even more money to buy a new CD from them. I'll just buy the MP3s on Amazon as a new album. I've asked my wife never to buy me anything from this store again and I won't be shopping there again either. read more

Always a great experience. Brought my family with me for the first time, my two 5 year olds were over the moon as the cashier offered them seasick stickers... they still talk about it. Thank you for great customer service See y'all next time! read more

This is a cool vinyl store and they have a decent selection of records. They have new and used vinyls some as low as $3. I love that this location also has a barbershop inside, how dope is that! The staff was super friendly and it is nestled in a small plaza with free parking. This place has been on my list for awhile and I've been in the mood for new vinyls. Some of the selections I was hoping for they did not have but the selection that this store did have was pretty good. I love that you can listen to the vinyls in store. Glad to have a store like this in the neighborhood, definitely recommend for all my vinyl lovers. read more

I have been to this place report but never left a review. The store is very good. I found what I was looking for in there. People are friendly. The staff was running very easy to navigate read more

I really liked this place and regret that, on the numerous times I though check these guys out, I didn't do it sooner!!! This is a newer location than where I remember them being, but it looks like it was a good move. Based on the size of the old building it looks like they have more space here, which they are able to take full advantage of by displaying more product. Great selection of vinyl that you aren't going to find at every other record (music) store. Found several things that would be classified as special order - bonus, prices were pretty good as well. Staff was really friendly and helpful and the checkout process was really good. Also, if you are looking for some new music and think you'd like a new hair cut - they have you covered, section is dedicated to finding your inner rock star look. Highly recommend! read more

Seasick Records is an independent record Store in Birmingham, AL and a force to be reckoned with of uniqueness. There's even opened up haircuts Service next to Seasick. The Shop has just about everything to cassettes, accessories, along with of course all kinds of LP Vinyl Records. Even turntables and Speakers. I love this store and they even have online ordering so you can order from their website know matter if your in Birmingham, AL or not. You could spend all day here they also have a record club and events all the time. Definitely recommend this place a 5 Starrrssss:) all the way. read more

I haven't actually stepped foot in this store, but while visiting Birmingham, I messaged around to a couple vinyl stores looking for a specific version of a new release. We had to leave town before we got a chance to stop in, but Dan corresponded with me by email and had exactly what I was looking for! He was kind enough to hold his last copy back for me, and I had a relative go by and pick it up today. Really, this was above and beyond customer service! So thank you to Dan and Seasick records for excellent customer service. Next time we visit Birmingham, we will definitely stop in to peruse for those hard-to-find vinyls! A+ all the way! read more

I am no where near cool enough to be buying vinyl records. I occasionally visit with my son who regularly purchases vinyl through record clubs, directly from artists, online exclusives and of course brick and mortar locations. This is by far his favorite in the Birmingham area. Not only does he feel that they have a great selection of both new and used items, but they have special events and concerts. He is also a big fan of Newman's Classic Cuts. He now is less likely to grumble when his mom suggests needing a haircut. read more

Seasick records is THE spot for your vinyl needs in Birmingham There is new and used records, so price varies between. First time in, I picked up some solid records for $3 each!!! They have great merchandise options too. Can't wait to go back read more

The sickest record shop in Alabama and quite possibly the world. If they don't have it, then you don't want it. They should have a basketball court out back. read more

This place is the best place in Birmingham to get new and used LPs. The staff is extra friendly too. Right now they are taking appointments and limiting the amount of walk ups who can shop at the store, but never fear, their online shop is FULL of great finds. They offer curbside pickup if you order online too (they also ship)! They also participate in record store day!!!! read more

This is a clean and new spot for record shopping that shares a space with a barber shop. The stacks are easy to navigate and the used section has some real bargains. They put out new arrivals on Saturday. Local acts are marked and there's some exclusive records just sold in this store. The staff is super friendly and this area of BHAM is an up and coming hip part of town. Prices are fair and great selection of new and used vinyl. Keep independent record stores alive! read more

My friend Casi C. is a fellow Yelp Elite and invited me to hear a band play here last week. It was actually really nice, and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it at first. I walk in, and the place is packed with people. There are records from floor to ceiling so if you have a record player, you should definitely check this place out. I look over at the corner and see what I thought were tattoo chairs. Turns out they are barber chairs! I totally didn't know they cut hair here and have never heard anything but great things reading other yelp reviews. The only reason I'm giving then 4 instead of 5 stars is cause I don't know if they have air conditioning or not. It was a pretty humid day outside, and if they did have the AC on it might have been warm in there since there were so many people. I'm actually very afraid of cold weather so I can only imagine how other people felt here. Last thing I want to give them kudos to? Having Kacey Musgraves!! read more

My 14 year old just got into vinyl and this place is very cool. Great selection of new and and used stuff that is in good condition. They have a listening area set up and cool music playing in the store. No hassle no bother and just took our time looking through and talking music. The used stuff is pretty cheap and gives you an opportunity to try something you wouldn't normally for 3 bucks. read more

Seasick is a pretty cool place, but this review is mostly for Newman's Classic Cuts, which is located inside of Seasick Records. They do haircuts and beard trims. I've gone here twice now for a beard trim. A.P. has done a great job both times - family and fiance' have loved it both times. Both A.P. and Newman are friendly and entertaining. They also offer other hair-care products in the store if you're looking to try some out. I'll be back here again! read more

This is one of the best places in Birmingham to get a decent record. Most of there stuff is hipster-ish but in a good way. They have a small selection but what they have is great. I'm not into buying "new" artists (that's what Spotify is for) so I walked out with a few things from the used section. Bruce Springsteen and the Rocky Horror soundtrack. Katie that works behind the counter is a doll. She is really nice and gives great service. She's dresses really cute too! (Not that that matters I'm just a lady that enjoys a different style!) They also have a barber in the store. He cut my boyfriends hair and did a great job. He looks even more handsome now! If you wanna be cool you should probably go to Seasick. It's pretty damn cool. read more

Nice record store over in the Crestwood area of town. No gripes here, but don't go expecting to shop if they have somebody performing in store. My first experience happened to be on record store day and it was loud with tons of people standing in the way at each of the bins. This store isn't huge and the selection isn't massive, but that's ok. There's used, select genres in new, 45s, comps, and a cd listening station and everything is organized alphabetically. The store's vibe is pretty cool as they tend to spin some of their personal favs. If you like what you here, ask em about it. Also, they will order anything you don't wanna order yourself. There's an in house barber as well. I've never gone in and not seen somebody get their hair cut. May be a good sign! Go check out the store if you're into records and such! read more

I live in California and purchased some items from Seasick Records during Record Store Day. My husband and I go to Birmingham a couple of times a year and we always make it a point to stop here. The space is well organized, with plenty of room to walk around and browse. They have a good mix of new music, and older, used records. A great place to find music local to the area as well. The barber working in a corner of the shop is a fun and unique addition. Great place to stop and browse for records! read more
