The technician requested that my wife sign a damage waiver and responded unprofessionally when she asked for clarification, stating they would be paid regardless. I have a service contract with Sears. After multiple cancellations by Sears I finally got a repair tech. issue was not resolved. Trying again but have two cancellations already. Each time I am up at 6:30 am waiting. Of course can't go to work that day because schedule is from 7 to 5. I understand maybe one cancellation but for a contract customer they should have priority. six cancellations for one service call is ridiculous. I won't be renewing with Sears. read more

The technician did not really diagnose the problem. He gave me the wrong part number to order for the lid switch. He told me that the company would make him charge me about $700. to replace the lid latch and the drain pump on my washer, so he suggested I order the parts myself, except he gave me the wrong part number. He charged me $129. for the service and all he did was take off the drain pump and put it back on and take off the lid strike, not the switch and put it back on. read more

Appt scheduled for 6 Jan. 6 Jan 2026 - Technician 1 arrived, completed troubleshooting and identified the clutch as the issue, not the transmission. 15 Jan appt scheduled. 15 Jan - Technician 1 replaced clutch. Tested without a load of clothes and tech claimed repair complete. 19 Jan - Ran first load of clothes since 15 Jan repair - original noise before repair persisted. Requested return of technician. Scheduled 27 Jan appt. 27 Jan - Technician 1 returned, showed him video of washer with noise and he identified agitator as the issue. Ordered agitator. New Appt for 7 Feb. 7 Feb - Technician 1 replaced agitator, tested empty washer, claimed repair complete. 10 minutes after tech left, ran a load of clothes, original noise still persisted, requested return of technician. Appt scheduled for 17 Feb. 17 Feb - Appt was cancelled by Sears, rescheduled for 20 Feb. 20 Feb - Technician 1 returned and finally identified transmission as issue. Ordered parts. New appt 26 Feb. 26 Feb - Tech arrived, found wrong parts shipped, ordered correct parts, scheduled next appt for 4 Mar. 1 Mar - Parts arrived early, Sear moved appt up to 2 Mar. 2 Mar - Appt cancelled by Sears, rescheduled for 5 Mar. 5 Mar - Appt cancelled by Sears, rescheduled for 6 Mar. 6 Mar - Technician 2 arrived, replaced transmission. We ran washer with load of clothes before technician left and found repair to be complete. Total: 7 visits by 2 Sears technicians, $1,468 in parts and labor charged to my home warranty company. Sears could have brought me 2 new washing machines 9 weeks ago to save time and money. read more

I had a washing machine issue. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem a couple of days later and did so in a timely manner. He said a replacement part would be ordered and when it arrived, a technician would come out and install. Unfortunately, the communication between Sears and me was horrific. I started getting automated generated messages setting up appointments to install the replacement part. I'm guessing I received 10-15 of these messages, each one with different appointment dates. When I was finally able to talk with a "live" person, they said the replacement part would be sent directly to me, at which time an installation appointment could be confirmed. However, the live person or isubsequent ndividuals I "chatted"​ with could not tell me when the part would be delivered. I continued to receive new generated appointment dates even though no one knew when the part would be delivered. I finally received the part 5 weeks after initial technician visit. At that point I set up an appointment for installation. The technician was courteous, apologetic, and professional. He completed the repair, and checked to make sure washer worked properly. He did an outstanding job. No complaints at all with the technicians. My complaint is with Sears, the automated generated communications, the inability to speak with a live person, the inaccurate information provided, and the lack of knowledge for pending part availability and arrival. 5 weeks without a washer without clear, concise information and expectations was very, very frustrating to me as a consumer. I rate the experience as a 2 only because the technicians were outstanding. I would have have given it zero if it was only rating Sear's customer service. read more

Ice maker quit working and called it in on 6/26/25 for service. We received a repair date of 6/30/25. We did not receive any communications or technician on 6/30/25. We called to find out that the COMPANY rescheduled us to 7/10/25, confirmed, and we had no options but to wait, again without a single bit of communications. Then, 7/10/25 rolls around, and no technician! We got told the TECHNICIAN cancelled the appointment on 7/10/25, did not call, and did not communicate in ANY fashion. WE found out about the cancellation via e-mail stating we HAD to reschedule or cancel the call. WE had to reschedule to 7/28/25, the EARLIEST available time. THIS IS A FULL MONTH OF NO SERVICE FROM A PAID SERVICE CONTRACT!!! Talking with the Tech, he showed up on EVERY call the company sent him! The tech shows up on 7/28/25. He checked out the icemaker and stated he thought the water valve was working correctly. Stated that he would change the ice maker, the technician stated that he hoped to have the part on the truck; at that time I stated that I sincerely hope so! The idea that over a month of knowing the ice maker did not work, should have made the company and the technician ASSURE that ALL the parts was available for this repair. The replaced ice maker did not fix the issue. Water streamed out of the ice maker, filled the ice tray ran over and through the refrigerator under the cabinets and out the floor where the gas line comes in for the stove, and ran outside! I immediately called back to state that this "repair" failed! This next call was scheduled for 8/18/25. The tech showed up and checked out the refrigerator, and stated that he needed to order the complete ice maker kit to get the valve and new ice maker, and that should fix this issue! Again, any company in this business SHOULD HAVE HAD THE PARTS ON HIS TRUCK for this SITUATION!!!! A month and a half, a failed ice maker replacement, but again, had to ORDER the parts. Parts show up, and are not the correct parts. Has to re-order, AGAIN! Now it is scheduled to 9/8/25. Parts were ordered on 8/18/25 for the repair, and I have to wait another 3 weeks to get this repair, IF IT FIXES IT! WE did not get ANY communications from the company or Tech about missing this appointment on 9/8/25! It was just dropped, like the one on 7/10/25. We did not know that the Tech was not showing up until after 4:00 p.m. on 9/8/25. That is when we started calling to find out what has happened to this repair appointment. After calling in and having to re-schedule again, we were told that we requested another tech. Numerous requests on WHO did that, and the company stated that I did that! Now washer, which is on the same contract, starts leaking water on the floor. The tech shows up, and has to order parts. Re-schedule for 2 weeks ... AGAIN. Parts mailed to us, a different tech shows up to install the parts, to find out that more parts are needed. Ordered and re-scheduled, AGAIN. Tech shows up, and replaces the parts, but the machine will not work. He called in and the company is replacing the washer. The company tried to replace a commercial grade washer with a regular washer. Not happening! They offered $799.00 for a $1219.00 washer. This $799.00, per the company, covers the washer, delivery, and installation. Many calls a State Attorney General complaint, along with a Better Business Bureau complaint, now the company expects us to take $1268.00 for a $1665.19 bill on the replacement machine. Why in the world would we take a 25% reduction from this LOUSY SERVICE COMPANY? Sears Home Service used to be good, now it is being ran by bureaucrats that micro-manage and try to make up their own rules on their printed contracts! I am trying to get them banned from business in the State of Missouri! This crap does not belong in BUSINESS!! read more

The technician didn't look at anything. He just said it needed a whole new ice maker. I waited all day for him to arrive and in five minutes tell me that I needed something that was not cost effective for the age of my refrigerator. I had signed up for the appointment because I received a $50 coupon. However, the coupon was a sneaky way to make people think that that was the actual price. However, even the technician acknowledged that the age of the refrigerator did not warrant spending $550 to repair it. Because. I didn't agree to have them repair it, the cost of the appointment was no longer discounted. I don't appreciate companies who have to trick customers by not having clear information. I will never be calling Sears home repair again. Sears replied that they want to make it right but they gave their website that doesn't allow me to report a problem and the number provided is not a person. i do not recommend!!!!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience with two different technicians from Sears. The first technician Andy poured too much refrigerant into my AC unit, which blew my compressor. The second technician they sent over by the name of Timothy wrote a false report to cover for his friend Andy, and drove off without discussing anything with me. Because of his bold face lie my claim was denied by my home warranty company. Now I'm stuck paying for Andy's very expensive mistake. Also, there is no one to make a formal complaint to because they are completely AI now. Do not trust this company, or their technicians. The service tech was great! Roger came in and figured out what needed to happen and did a great job. The scheduling department, however, is terrible and does not care at all about the customer! Our appointment had been originally scheduled for the previous week and while we received a bunch of emails, had no update until my wife called at 3p to find out what was going on. The company said the tech would still arrive before the 5p cut-off. At 4:10p, my wife called again and then was told that they "just got a call that the repair person called in sick". Quite convenient that the person "called in sick" only 50 minutes before the end of the day and an hour after we were told everything was on track. I called the scheduling department to outline that we needed someone to come out the next day because my wife wasted the entire day waiting for someone that then cancelled literally at the end of the day and they said there was nothing they could do until Monday. They said they understood our frustration, but that was clearly not true as they had zero interest nor desire to try and make it right. Their response was "sorry, you will have to wait until Monday". Sears has really gone downhill! I used to really value Sears, but this experience has taught me they are nothing like they used to be. I would not use them again, but our warranty company chose them as the service organization so it is not our choice. Update: Received a comment to this message from a Sears representative and asked me to follow a link to provide more details of the service call, however, the link did not work...said it was broken. Just another example of poor performance by Sears! Makes me wonder if that response was just for "show" to let others think Sears really cares about what happened. read more

After several frustrating calls and dealing with the call center regarding 2 no show appointments they were automatically rescheduled after waiting all day, finally we get our fridge fixed with a new compressor. However, the repair person, Andrew F. did significant gouging into our hardwood floors. I'm going to call the "call center" to inquire about a claim for repair. Our fridge is on wheels and slides with out incident to the floor. The damage is directly where he was working and was not there the day before when I mopped my floors. We have no pets or children to blame. The value of the warranty is not worth the frustration and now the damage to the hard woods. My recommendation would be to cancel your Sears Home Protection! Shop elsewhere, and stay away from Kenmore refrigerators! read more

They give you a ridiculous 12 hour window and most of the time will cancel on you anyways. Then there will be technical issues with their system in the rescheduling process and NOBODY can help you or keep you updated. The customer service, refund dept and billing dept are poorly run and unscrupulous. We had a tech come diagnose an issue at the end of July. Called a week later to have the part ordered and schedule a date for installation. Tech showed up, no part in hand, and told me he was there to diagnose the issue. After explaining that that had already been done he told me that Sears does not send parts with their technicians and then I would need to pay for the part labor and installation at that time for them to order it. So I paid for the part and above services and made an appointment for the following week. Appointment comes up, no part has been delivered to my house and no technician shows. I called to find out that even though I had paid for the part, Sears never ordered it. Great. They said they would expedite the order and we schedule another appt for the following week (end of Aug). That appt comes and once again, no one showed up. My husband put in the part, so I called Sears for a labor and installation refund (almost $250) since services were not rendered. It's October and I still haven't been refunded. I have called multiple times. I will be contacting the Attorney General to resolve this issue. read more
