I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience we had during our Mother's Day cruise…read more As visitors from the Hudson Valley, we were unfamiliar with the area and found Mystic quite crowded. We initially struggled to find parking, which was a significant concern as my wife has disabilities. We were worried we would miss our departure, but the gentleman in your office was exceptionally helpful and kind. He assured us that he had coordinated with the captain to hold the boat, and he even ran out of the office to personally guide us to the dock. The captain and crew on the schooner were professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the sights around Mystic Harbor. I was a beautiful sunny day and, despite the wind picking up, it was a very relaxing, smooth and enjoyable sail. Thank you for your outstanding professionalism and for making sure we didn't miss the boat. We had a great time and highly recommend your cruises.

We took a sunset cruise on the Argia, which is the last commercial sailing ship left in Mystic,…read morewhen we were visiting Mystic with a couple of friends on the Fourth of July. The boat has different seating options - wooden benches and cushion seats without backrests. We reserved two of the cushioned areas and showed up ready to check in on time (they ask you to show up about 30 minutes before boarding to check in). You board at the dock just next to the bridge in Mystic, so it couldn't be more convenient if you're exploring Mystic for a day or a weekend. The Argia allows you to bring alcohol (wine and beer) on board (although they ask that you not bring large coolers - there's no room for them), so we brought a couple of bottles of wine bought from the great wine shop down the street. The sail is partly narrated. Our sail was two hours long, and the staff narrated for some of the sailing time - pointing out historic and interesting sites along the sail (islands with an interesting history, homes with interesting architecture, etc.). Between the gorgeous scenery, some narration of fun and interesting facts about Mystic and its harbor, the great wine we'd brought aboard, and great company - it was the perfect way to spend a couple of hours in Mystic. What a beautiful way to enjoy Mystic and its harbor!

We've been coming to Mystic every year for a while, and this is the first time we discovered Mystic…read moreBoat Adventures. My daughter and I had an absolute blast piloting the boat, and once we got over the fear factor that we were going "too fast" and gained confidence in piloting the boat for the first time, it felt like second nature. We did the 3 hour Mystic River tour which ended with a "free sail" hour at the end. However, we opted not to go out into the Sound due to heavily windy conditions, so we stayed in the channel in the "playground" area doing donuts and figure-eights. Before we knew it the 3 hours was up. Rob was a great host and he taught us how to pilot the boats in no time. He was also very knowledgeable of the Mystic seaport area. We had a great time and will absolutely be making this a regular part of our yearly Mystic trips!

I decided to book a 3 hour tour with Mystic Boat Adventures to surprise my hubby for his birthday…read moreat the end of July. The reviews were all highly praising and it looked like a fun experience. I have to say: don't hesitate! Book them! Rob was a pro guide and made sure we understood how to operate our boat safely and how to get the most fun out of it. Yes, there are safety things that you need to be aware of, but he was very encouraging of us trying out what the boat can do. We loved getting to do donuts in our boat! The tour itself was very informative, and we really got a feel for the area. We're already looking forward to returning for another season with a full group of friends to rent out all the boats. This is a must-do activity when visiting Mystic. Be sure to arrive on time as requested so that you can be briefed on the safety. That is so important, and that is why they tell you in advance that you will be turned away if you are late to the safety briefing. For those of you who may be wondering, there is ample parking, and it was about a 15-20 minute drive with traffic from downtown Mystic. Again, a huge thank you to Rob for being an awesome guide and helping us have the best experience possible for my husband's birthday surprise. Hope to see you again soon!

I asked for bow in and stbd side to and that's what we got. A nice clean facility, including heads and showers. Friendly folks on the docks. An easy enough walk to town. I needed a fuel pump replaced which service handled competently within a few hours (I had the spare with me). Would surely go back.

The RR swing bridge opens on demand -hail channel 13 -- but the Highway bridge -also hail "Mystic Rt 1 hway Bridge on 13- opens only 40 minutes after the hour so plan accordingly. Mariners searching for a place to put in should call in advance for availability. It is a decent sized yard with fuel, ice and a clean swimming pool. On the east side if the river it is a half mile from the Mystic train station and about that distance from a gas station and pizza place. If you take your dinghy up the river there is a dinghy dock just south of the Route one bridge and you can head into town. There are a couple of ice cream paroles, a toy store, casual and expensive restaurants and wonderful clothing and gift shops. Check out the galleries! The gem of the Mystic River is Mystic Seaport. You can arrive by dinghy and put her in north of the north dock which is past the lighthouse on the bend of the river. Brewers is a wonderful spot to venture to by boat and take in all Mystic has to offer. If casinos is your thing you probably could get a cab. The yard also can do repairs. Grills, laundry and clean showers are available. Wifi is available also and you can ask about pump outs. There is a ump out service on the river. Seatow also operates nearby. The marina is quiet and the boaters are respectful. It is not a party marina like some in Newport. Great for families. My favorite restaurants: Kitchen Little for breakfast (by dinghy). Marguerites for Mexican, Angie's for pizza and Italian take out ( they deliver), Oyster Company, S&P Oyster for the view of the river, Drawbridge Ice Cream for dessert!
