From the second we arrived at the dock, Charlie made my friend and I feel completely at ease. One of my favorite things about him is that you can tell from the minute you start talking to him that he's not out to exploit the sharks in any way. After tagging over 2,600 sharks, Charlie really just wants to share his knowledge with you and provide a deeper understanding of these animals. His heart is completely in the right place, and he is amazingly authentic and kind. And as for the actual shark-diving experience, it was genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life. We had EIGHT sharks around us total, and after a while, they came right up to us! I was nervous at first getting into the water, but after a while, you realize that the sharks are just more curious than anything and far more interested in the fish we were giving them. I could have stayed in the water ALL DAY. I would go back again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Charlie, for your kindness, patience, and natural teaching ability. I had the best day, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering this amazing experience!

On the boat ride back she cut the fish into filets and bagged em up! He also offers shark fishing, shark dives, champagne sunset tours and a plethora of other oceanic options. The owner proceeded to raise his voice that the two other people in our group needed to do the paperwork but we were already half way done. There is four of us in our group so it took some time for us. The owner then got pissed off and said in a rude manor that we needed to be back on time since other people were renting the car. How rude of the owner while all his workers were so kind to us. Especially on the 4th of July. We were back on time but shame on the owner for having a disgusting disrespectful attitude like that. But only complaint or should I say concern is I'm not sure how well maintained the Slingshot rentals are. I've never driven one before, so it's very possible that what I experienced driving is just how they drive, but to me a few things stood out. - slow acceleration; needed to really push the pedal to accelerate past 25/30 MPH. Luckily most of Newport is 25 MPH speed limit, so it's not like there is much of a need to go fast anyway - BRAKES; again this I think is more just a slingshot thing...might have nothing to do with maintenance. But as someone who never drove one before, I was very surprised at how bad the brakes were. The vehicle decelerates pretty rapidly when you let of the gas, BUT you also have to anticipate and ensure you have enough distance to brake and safely come to a stop. I still had a ton of fun and amazing time cruising around the city and taking in the sites. It was very fun to drive down toward the Cliff Walks.

From what we could see, they carry Fox bikes, which is a very high end, off road, cycle. I'm a 'bike path' sort of gal and an 8k+ cycle is way out of my price bracket. They had others for less, but all were very high end. We walked in on the 'repair' side of the shop (two doors from the sidewalk into the building) and the staff member there directed us over to the sales floor. He was the most pleasant part of our visit. I saw one staff member in the sales area who remained behind the register during our entire visit and I think there was one other staff member assisting a customer with gear. There were several customers milling around without being assisted. We exited through the sales area door and the staff member behind the register there asked if they could help but our reconnaissance pretty much told us what we needed to know. There may have been more options we didn't see, but as it was busy and the floor models all have price tags, I think we got the gist. Still, it would have been nice to have an offer of assistance before we were leaving. I wonder if the other customers there feel the same way.

Beginning in his college years, Bodziony worked at Caster's Bicycles: a family-owned bicycle shop with locations in Providence and Warwick. He would end up working at Caster's for 19 years. Eventually, Bodziony wanted to open his own bicycle shop. In 2007, his old friend Joe Sisson informed him that he was looking to sell his family's bike shop, Narragansett Bikes, which had been family-owned and operated since 1989. Bodziony and Dale partnered up to purchase the business and rebranded it as "NBX Bikes". In early 2013, NBX moved down the street to a larger location. They even opened a yoga studio upstairs. That same year, Reed Caster (third generation owner of Caster's Bicycles) sold his two locations to NBX. In 2015, Rob Foulkes (owner of East Providence Cycle) retired and sold his shop to NBX as well. By 2020, the ownership at NBX decided to go back to their roots. They sold off all of their secondary locations and decided to operate as a single-store local bike shop going forward. I recently stopped at NBX Bikes for the first time. I had seen an advertisement for NBX to host a "JAWS" night that coincided with the 50th Anniversary of the classic blockbuster. I was very interested in attending; not only for my interest in cycling, but also because "Jaws" is my all-time favorite film. I arrived at the shop in the early evening. I was really impressed with NBX's showroom, their selection of bikes and accessories, and their excellent customer service. The first event of the evening was a 22-mile group ride along the seashore from the shop to Point Judith Lighthouse and back. It was so much fun! After the ride, all attendees were treated to an outdoor screening of "Jaws" which featured free cook-out food, beer and merchandise courtesy of Narragansett Beer. The beer brand is proudly featured in the film. This event also marked the release of a brand new exclusive "Jaws" bicycle jersey that was produced by a partnership between NBX and Narragansett Beer. I sure was glad that I pre-ordered my jersey a month earlier. I broke it in a week later when I was cycling on vacation in Maine. Overall, I had an excellent experience with the staff at NBX. Whether you've been cycling for several years or you're just looking to get into cycling, you should definitely head down to this excellent shop!

My bicycle is about 30 years old and heavy. I'm looking for a newer, lighter model to use for long distance rides along the bike path. This shop has a variety of street bikes, off road bikes and e-bikes plus storage systems, fenders, saddles, grips, racks and safety equipment. The prices seem to be in-line with what our expectations are and the sales rep emailed a quote for two cycles we thing will work best for my needs. They also rent cycles here, so I may just rent from time to time to see if it suits my needs before I purchase. I like that option.

I can't believe I am the first to write a review about Tony Marine. My experience exceeds the…read moremaximum number of stars I can give for their service to us. My fishing partner and I found them by accident while searching for used outboard motors in the 200 hp range. As a high school graduate from vocational high school in New York City (automotive trade, with first job as an automotive machinist @ 18) I quickly recognized the the state of the art equipment photographed on their website. Toni Marine took three power heads (engines) 2-1988's and 1-1990 and remanufactured two engines to matching specifications. They were returned fully painted withYamaha factory colors and a clear coat finish. We were also given a 2 year warrantee. At the time no one offered more than a 1 year warrantee. Locally or on line. We were also offered the gift of calling them for any technical advice in the future. We took advantage of that by asking how to best go about using 9 carburetors on hand with three irreparable to match 6. We received a detailed explanation over the phone as to how to achieve our goal. It worked! After the break-in period we had a slight oil fouling of the plugs. 1st advice of changing oil was ruled out. We had 50 gallons remaining of a (new) 55 gallon drum of Chevron 2 cycle oil. Instructions " don't change the plugs go to a 60:1 ratio" (we run pre-mix exclusively). That worked! We fish year round and on the weeks we don't fish the motors are run every 10 days. We never attached any brackets or looms to any bolts that were used on the gasketed components. We rerouted and affixed them to those that did not support gaskets. This kept the engine remanufacture as we received them. We are currently in our fourth year since Toni Marine did the work. Not a single leak or gasket failure. The boat is a 25' 1988 Sea Ox. 18deg dead rise; Loaded, 170gal of fuel & 6 aboard the vessel weighs 7,300#. Under ideal sea conditions it does 50.1 MPH (GPS) with twin Yamaha 200 HP outboards done by Toni Marine. I was told by Will "if you care for my motors, they will last you 20 years". Four years later, I'm a believer. I've been on saltwater as a boat owner since 1972 and Toni Marine is the best I've seen or heard off. The best experience in this field, and I found them by accident, looking for something else! If you choose them, "do exactly as they say".

It was also hot so water, sunglasses and hats are helpful. Kayaks are in good condition and it's about a 20 minute paddle south to the north end of the Narragansett town beach. There are also motor boats around but most were very nice and gave us plenty of room. There's lots of wildlife around especially birds so would be good for pretty much anyone. Would highly recommend and would definitely go again.

So peaceful in fact, that we had a thrilling encounter with a coywolf sunning itself on a large boulder! There was no danger to us - the coywolf was no doubt more wary of us than us of it (and was aware of us long before we saw it), but once it knew we spotted it, it leisurely got up and sauntered off without a backward glance. The Woodland Trail is fairly well-marked, has elegant beech trees scattered throughout, a babbling brook, and the loop can be completed in about 30-40 minutes at a moderate pace. A hidden gem in East Greenwich and my hat's off to the East Greenwich Land Trust for preserving both these woodlands and the working farm.

We saw two other couples -- and, unfortunately two garter snakes as well -- and it was great to be out in the woods and fields by ourselves. Quiet and peaceful.
