We spent some time here today (October 23). After a fairly long walk, we entered the shop and were offered cold drinks amd snacks. Shopped for a while, and then Nick drove us back to our ship in their golf cart! We met the whole family, right down to the little 10 month old baby! A great place to shop! This is a awesome little shop that has been around for over 30 years! We finally made it here and it was a great experience. Incredible selection of fabrics and yarns. Was able to get assistance from the nice employee (my apologies for not getting your name) in selecting colors for a throw I'm making for a dear friend. Nick is the best. We needed him to re-upholster several chair cushions for our condo, so we tried him out. WOW!! He patiently walked us around the neat and orderly shop, looking for an appropriate fabric for our needs, and we found the perfect one! Then he finished the job in record time and charged us a VERY reasonable price for the fabric and his labor. This guy is a real pro. THEN we went back a few days later so he could mend the edge of a quilt, which he did beautifully AND it was ready the same day. So glad we found Nick his Seam Shoppe, conveniently located on Truman. I always like to stop in quilt stores when I'm traveling to see what fabrics they carry. This store did not disappoint. In addition to quilt fabrics and lovely rayon fabrics in resort prints, they have an extensive line of outdoor and upholstery fabrics. They are apparently the only store on Key West to do upholstery work and have been in business for 30 years so they must know what they are doing. I bought several yards of fabrics and they gladly offered to ship it home for me as I did not have room in my luggage. Family run and well worth a visit. read more

Visited the seam shoppe today and it was great. Wonderful selection of fabrics for quilting as well as some quilt panels and kits. But I'd actually gone for yarn as I'm a bit of a fiber addict. A small selection but some interesting choices. Left with a beautiful skein for a scarf, as well as a row by row quilt kit. The store was very clean and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. I just purchased a used scooter with a torn seat and the pad slightly gouged. When I received a gift card to The Seam Shoppe, I brought in my scooter to be reupholstered. Cindy was excellent from start to finish, helping me select a new material for the cover and assuring me the job would be done in just a few hours. I got the callback sooner than expected. When I inspected the seat its shape had been completely restored to its smooth shape and the cover was secured tightly. Now my ride is as comfortable as it gets. I'll definitely go back with my upholstery needs. read more
