So I decided to drop the boat off this morning at about 10 30 am, he said he would call and touch base later in the day. To my amazement the phone rang at about 2 pm it was Mike saying your good to go, Your service was completed and all the little jobs I wanted doing were done. Oh yes he said one thing I didn't do was the compressor filter because it was spotless , not only that he took a picture for me to see , so I asked why he didn't change it anyway , he replied because they are really expensive andyours was spotless. He then took it personal and started calling me names, when all I wanted was a last service record of the 15hp 2 stroke he was selling. Really strange interaction. Incredibly unprofessional.

Still waiting for Dave to return the $500 he overcharged on a Generac home generator. It's been two…read moreyears. Dave is the principal owner of the business and recently got into the home generator business as a distributor and installer of Generac products. I signed off on an estimate / contract with him to install Generac's largest residential generator. Other than delivering the home generator unit and sub-contracting the gas and electrical hook-ups, I basically had to step in as the general contractor and work with the gas / electrical guys because he would not return phone calls to them or to me. In fact, I had to contact Generac directly to set the generator up and get the 10 year warranty he was supposed to secure for me as part of his estimate and contract. Even his own staff told me privately that he is over his head and not very good with customer support. I do not recommend Ocean West.

The staff were friendly and professional, they keep the boat yard clean, and the service was very efficient and reasonably priced. The haul out was priced on a round-trip basis and included up to 3 full days in the boat yard which was very helpful. We were not rushed to get the hull repainted, the zinc anodes changed, and the boat's hull waxed. Everything went very smoothly!

After spending over $12K and getting my boat finished at Blaine Marine Service it was put in the…read morewater but only made it about a hundred yards into the marina before one of the engines quit. The owner of BMS was on the boat and as we drifted into the dock he said he had my phone number and would call me. He never called, although the service manager called three days later to see if I needed anything. When I hadn't heard from them by the following morning I called Don at North County Marine. Although he was overloaded with work he said he would get to me as soon as possible. He showed up an hour later, diagnosed the problem and ordered parts. He returned a few hours after the parts were delivered and finished the job. Then, although he was just working me in between other scheduled jobs he completed the maintenance that BMS had failed to do and then accompanied me on a sea trial to make sure everything was functioning properly. When he presented the invoice I was pleasantly surprised by the fair price. I am an old man with years of mechanical experience and can assure anyone that Don knows his business and will treat you fairly. My wife and I can't thank him enough as he has saved our summer.
