The day of our original reservation was a no go because of water conditions. The staff worked it out for our group to come back two days later. The weather turned out great and we all enjoyed the experience. The pontoon was clean and well maintained. If you want to see Pictured Rocks from a different view, this is the way to go.

Storefront at the dock. We drove down a steep hill and parked right next to the storefront.

These people are wonderful! They literally saved our vacation. We had originally chartered a pontoon with a professional captain because we were afraid to take a pontoon on Lake Superior. That fell through so we went in search of another experienced captain to take us out for the day. That's when we found the fine folks at Seaberg. He reassured us how easy it is to captain the boat - as long as it is a calm day. And they won't let you take the boat out if it isn't calm. He took us out in the harbor and taught my daughter how to captain the boat. Turns out it was really easy. We spent a lovely day visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, took a million pictures and truly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Seaberg for a wonderful day!

Awesome experience, Awesome people! Me and my buddy wanted to do Pictured Rocks, and we weren't bright enough to plan it ahead of time (two unprepared trolls ‍) We went to try the cruises, they were booked. We went to try the glass bottom boats, they were booked. Even went to try kayaking, and you guessed it, booked. We just happened to stumble upon Seaberg's and to our surprise, THEY HAD A PONTOON FOR US! Honestly it was all a blessing! We weren't on a boat with a ton of strangers, and we didn't have to kayak for miles. It was peaceful, and relaxing! We were able to anchor when we wanted and jump in for a swim, and we were also able to get close to the cliffs and get a ton of excellent pictures! 10/10 will definitely do again!

Amazing experience, they had a boat come back early and we were able to get on the schedule. I am temporarily in a wheelchair and the owner personally loaded and unloaded me from the boat. Amazing people and great staff. Best possible way to view the beauty of Pictured Rocks

    Dog friendly boats rock!

This place was great! Super easy to find and reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I, and our 3 dogs, came here to rent a 1/2-day pontoon (5 hours) at a total of $217. Next time we come up to the UP we will definitely go for the full day, 11 hours! Staff is friendly and very laid back. Seeing the pictured rocks was 100x better from the comfort of a private pontoon boat! Just watch our for the wake from some of the larger ships...the recoil can be a doozy.

Staff was great. Our boat was awesome and very clean. The half day trip was amazing. This is THE only way to see Pictured Rocks.

I traveled from out of town for this experience. I spent money on lodging, gas, food, planning, and preparation for this trip -- far more effort and care than your company appeared willing to put into operating the tour itself. I arrived around 15 minutes early for the stated 2:30 PM meet time for the 3:00 PM launch and was immediately met with a completely locked building, no guide present, no organized check-in, no signage, no information regarding equipment, dry bags, footwear, launch procedures, or where guests were even supposed to be. Over the next 20+ minutes, I watched multiple confused guests continue arriving while company-associated employees sat nearby offering little to no proactive information despite clearly knowing the situation. Guests were left wandering around trying to figure out whether the tour was even happening. A shuttle eventually arrived AFTER the meet time had already passed, and when I directly asked for information regarding the tour, I was told they "had to figure that out." That is an absolutely insane thing to hear after guests have already arrived for a guided kayaking excursion. The employees present either had no ability to contact management or were unwilling. Nobody appeared to be in charge. No guide was present. No leadership existed. No confidence was inspired whatsoever. As a former kayaking guide myself, I have never seen a guided outdoor operation run this poorly. If your company is not going to have staff physically present at the meeting location, then guests should be meeting directly at the launch site. At the absolute minimum, the guide should already be there before guests begin arriving. Instead, what I experienced was confusion, silence, disorganization, unprepared employees, and complete operational incompetence from a company responsible for leading people out onto Lake Superior. Considering Lake Superior is one of the most dangerous and unpredictable freshwater lakes in the world, the level of disorganization and lack of professionalism this company displayed was completely unacceptable. At that point I chose not to participate because I had absolutely no confidence in the professionalism or management of the experience. Frankly, I would not trust this company with my outdoor experience if they had the last kayaks on earth. Thankfully, I spent the evening exploring Pictured Rocks and Lake Superior with my dog instead, which ended up being infinitely more enjoyable than wasting my afternoon standing in a parking lot waiting for someone to explain whether the tour was even functioning.

The captain, deckhands, and guides were professional, friendly, and clearly committed to helping everyone have a great experience. A special shoutout to our guide, Valerie. She was absolutely fantastic. Our 11-year-old rode in her kayak, and Valerie did an amazing job making all of our kids (ages 7, 9, and 11) feel included, seen, heard, and part of the adventure. She was knowledgeable, entertaining, full of dad jokes, and kept the entire group engaged throughout the tour. She also took some incredible photos for our family! As parents, we really appreciated how Valerie connected with our kids and made them feel like they belonged. That small detail made a great experience truly memorable. One of the things we appreciated most was having the support boat nearby throughout the paddle. Knowing it was there if anyone needed assistance or a restroom break added an extra level of comfort and confidence, especially with younger kids. The kayaking itself was very manageable for our family, but what really set this experience apart were the views. Being in a kayak puts you right at the base of the cliffs, giving you an up-close perspective of Pictured Rocks that you simply can't get from one of the larger sightseeing cruises. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. This was easily one of the highlights of our Upper Peninsula trip. We highly recommend Pictured Rocks Kayaking and would book with them again in a heartbeat!
