They weren't clear or transparent about when certain things would be an extra charge like a buff shine (for my dad) but they offered it as if it was complimentary. I'd start to only get placed wirh the same 1-2 girls who weren't as great at doing my nails or pedi as I'd like such as messing up the design I asked for or repeatedly cutting my skin and leaving me bleeding. I tried to be nice about all of this every time but it gets to a point I don't get why I keep paying to come back. The last time I visited was my last I wanted a simple butter yellow color for a pedi. It was trending and was spring/summer. They didn't have a single baby yellow to offer for just the regular polish and if they did I wasn't shown a display color of it. When I kept explaining what color I wanted the technician brought back all orange and browns and super dark OPPOSITE of pastel ones as possible. I was pretty disappointed and when I just politely said I'd pick a different color (basic pink) I heard the girl say with attitude negative things about me and say I wanted those colors ??? Today I was a walk in and got greeted and helped by Pauline, who really made the gel manicure experience exceptional. She is quite friendly and professional. Our conversation was smooth and wasn't forced and I didn't feel pressured with any kind of extras. She has many years of experience and I would highly recommend her for your next mani/pedi session. I hear she offers facials also, so will definitely come back for a care day.

I just feel pressured to get more or they'll talk you into the next thing. I've been coming here off and on for years. (At least 5 or so). I live a block away, so loved the convenience and thought that they were overall pretty good. As a long time customer, I brought my 5 year old in a few times within the last year or so. The first time was great! They treated her so well and helped pick her colors and did a great job with her nails. But this last time I brought her in, my kid wanted to same as last time: which was 3 colors. I saw dirty looks and an overall annoyed worker immediately followed by talking back and forth to their coworkers, very obvious they were annoyed with us. (Although I couldn't understand the language or the problem). This was a weekday and it was super slow, and there were maybe 3 other people in the salon getting services, mind you. Not a stressful situation. They grabbed the colors, painted her nails quickly and walked away... they just were not friendly at all. At the end, when I went to pay, I asked for a breakdown bc it was more than I calculated in my head and they charged me an additional $10 for a third color. They said 2 colors were no up charge but the 3rd is $10. That was never communicated with me. They didn't do that the previous times I was there. And to have a 3rd color, it meant that 4 nails were painted with that (basically the middle finger/toe on each limb). Cmon guys. Also- as a 5 year old, their nails typically stay on for only 4-5 days at best- to spend $50 on that- I won't do that again. I decided in that moment that I would not be able to return here. To make an additional $10 off of me that day, but to lose years of my business- and with me bringing in friends and my daughters.... I hope that was worth it. To secretly upsell because an employee is annoyed is just wrong. Just tell me ahead of time there would be a cost- I would have clearly only done 2 colors... To do that to a long time customer was inappropriate... and to treat my child that was very well behaved in such a manner- didn't talk to her, and was overall annoyed the whole time- was just rude. Do better, guys. For the rest of the staff- you have all been friendly over the last several years. So thank you. The stars I left are for you guys.

During the removal process, she had me place my nails in a bowl of acetone and kept alternating hands instead of using foil wraps and allowing them to soak properly for 15-20 minutes, which is what I later read is the recommended process. After about 30 minutes, she seemed frustrated and started rushing through my appointment so she could get to another client. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with both the quality of the service and the experience.
